  • oh mickey,

Haven't you heard? Hillary invented the wheel!

  • Bravo Manos

    And just what..

..would I want with your respect?

They really just do not get it...

  • OH, the protest!

RESPECT-- It is the courtesy that one gives to another regardless of his/her stance on an issue.

Yet feminists, women, and those who disagree with me never seem to succeed at achieving this-- yet they still demand respect from me.. to laugh.

It is when one treats another with regard. I could see how one such as yourself would not require something as trivial and tedious as respect; in order to gain respect, one must first show respect.

hmm, doesn't this contradict the prior statement about granting respect regardless of stance? If nobody blinks first, what does that lead to?

In this regard, I am afraid you are severely lacking. True, you don't need my respect; your unwavering trust in your own opinion precludes you from any such need.

As if having trust in one's beliefs is tied to automatically respecing all others? I do not get this chump statement. But it explains the arrogance of the left pretty well, if I understand it correctly.

    So then why blog?

What is the point? That if you respect noone and have faith in your opinion you should keep your mouth shut? Again, illogical..

If you are the final analysis, what is the purpose in providing your POV and exposing IT for criticism? Everyone should just fall in line, right?

I do not recall him claiming this mantle.

  • Easily Influenced

It sure took Paglia long enough. Instead of simply throwing turds at Clinton (suggesting she color her hair like G. Flowers was the topper) she has deigned to actually explain her fervent opposition. She doesn't think the "first lady" duty is any kind of experience.

I don't either. But that isn't really what Clinton was. She didn't spend those years promoting books to children, or "just say no" campaigns to adolescents. The Clinton campaign is built on the resilience she and her husband demonstrated when they were pawns in an enemy camp--pursued by a hate and fear mongering party who only trusted their own.

What was it about that little old lady on the Pennsylvania road putting out her sign that says something? If it had been any other "first lady," is that what captured her attention? Hasn't Clinton made it absolutely clear at this point she was a participant--and not a bystander in those years? Maybe she acquired her skill and knowledge since the campaign began--yeah--that explains it.

I'm sorry to see Camille had a fallout with her friend Russ, but I'm not sure if he and Dorothy Thompson would have hit it off anyway. I may miss your talk at Harvard Camille, but thanks for inviting me. Now that you've embraced Obama and the audience is young and full of illusions, I'm sure you'll go over well. Americans are an easily influenced people, don't you think?

  • Hilary supporters irrational?

they foam at the mouth like raccoons while pretending to be civil.

and the feminist privilege excuses they put out ...

I have hardly been entertained more in my life than by the simpering idiots who coddle their Hilary

  • Stackey-Dackey

There is nothing wrong with being an Obama supporter. You stated your case with eloquence and a solid concern. Voters such as yourself I don't fear-but there do seem to be a lot of Obama supporters who regard him as messiah like. What disturbs me is the nasty backlash against older working class Americans. When supporters and those in his camp imply that only old uneducated white people vote for Hillary, they are going to alienate many of the general population in the general election. I just believe he is human and fallible- as is Hillary Clinton

  • "can obama learn to attack"

I don't know where you have been for the last 6 months but that is all Obama has done in his campaign.....attack Hillary and Bill Clinton.

He has no platform of his own so he has used negative tactics from the beginning.

If the Democratic Party does split you can thank him and Edwards.

  • re Manos99

Manos is apparently so new to these hallowed webpages that he cannot separate his/her own irrational hatred of Hillary Clinton with his irrational hatred of her supporters, regardless of whether the topic of discussion actually relates to Clinton in any way whatsoever.

I don't think he "gets" that A) No one cares how much he hates Hillary and B) No one cares how stupid he thinks we are (the level of his diatribe indicates about how much respect we should confer to his opinion) and C) Our dislike of Paglia and our annoyance at Salon's continual support for this pseudointellectual has nothing to do with how we feel about Obama or CLinton.

Come on, Salon. You said you would be reading the letters more carefully. Well, even if you won't listen to those of us who are sick of Paglia, you should at least see that Manos99 is nothing but a shameless troll who can't produce a thoughtful letter to save his own skin.

  • Hillary the Bush Leaguer.

Bush's greatest crime was using fear against the American people, essentially doing the terrorists work for them. Terrorism is about fear, about two guys in a tent sowing fear in a entire nation. Bush is no different than Stalin or Mao on this account. Hillary has chosen to go down the fear path as well.

I surely cannot forgive her for this massive failure. Sure, power is great, being the President would be great. But Clinton has shown what she will do to get and keep said power. And the country has grown weary of infighting to nowhere. I am a white male Repub, and I am voting for Obama. Such that I represent the very healing process that he brings to the table on Day One.

  • Her articles trails off at the end

And I don't think Elizabeth Taylor that alluring or sexy in the linked Life magazine cover. I just see cancer stick and cancer skin. But overall Paglia's a nice counterpart to Glen Greenwald as a reason to read Salon.

  • Camille Paglia must just chortle at all the letters

    calling her a pseudointellectual.

ad hominems do not make an effective retort. only pretend intellectuals would engage in this sort of attack in the first place.

you people really, really just do not get it, do you?
