confirming suspicions
Like I said, reasoned argument referencing the specialists' literature does not even register with some people, it flies right over their head, as if they were children.

Hillary Without Tears
Professor Paglia should stick to her day job. Like Dowd of the NYTimes, she is very good at contemptous, slash-and-burn commentary on those she dislikes. She gives it all away, however, when she says at the end of her polemic that she would vote for Hillary if Mrs. Clinton became the Democratic Nominee for President in 2008. No matter if the Republican Nominee might be of better character, integrity and experience (Senator McCain, for one). Sort of as if the Elector of Hanover were to vote for Bernardo Machiavelli to be Holy Roman Emperor, for at least he would have no hidden French tendencies! Like Hillary and Dowd, Paglia has no shame!

Ms. Paglia on Sen. Clinton
mmmmm.....let's see, Ms. Paglia, despite the many misgivings that she has about Sen. Clinton being able to perform as president, would vote for her simply because she's the parties nominee. I don't get putting party loyalty above the well being of the country?????

So Hillary read a book during a sporting event.
Shows how smart she is. I always read books during sporting events. They totally bore me but my husband does not like to go alone and I do enjoy the hotdogs and people watching. Will never understand why people care about who wins these contests.

The Clintons Are Also Using The Race Card!
Barack Obama's African grandmother was interviewed by CNN on the day before the New Hampshire Primary. One would think that the primary would be the focus of CNN's interview. One would expect questions about Barack’s campaign, and that his grandmother would be asked about her expectations respecting the New Hampshire Primary. But there were no such questions. As I watched, I came to understand that the viewer wasn't suppose to learn anything from Obama's grandmother, the point was to for us to see Obama's grandmother. We were to see how black she is, and how poor she is, and impute that to him.

No Political Accomplishments ?
Bill and Hillary will go down as the best political team ever !
I am no fan, but Bill has skin of teflon and Hillary went from the First Lady to a Senator of a state that she never lived in.
Great piece but every US politician would love to have their accomplishments.
Also I know some people who lobby Senators and they say that she has the best Senate team and unlike most of her brother and sister Senators she actually knows what they do.

Love Ya Pags
I don't know what's better Camille, reading your stuff or the whiny adolescent responses that it generates. With all this bitter, venomous drivel, you know you've hit a bullseye. If we want more than just to fill seats in congress or have one of our guys sleep in the White House, I think we have to expect a little more from our leaders.
We've seen what nonentities have given us in the House and Senate(Hurray we're the majority!!!). Do we want this in a President? If your answer is yes, well then Hillary is your candidate.Nancy,Harry and Hillary, now there's a real Mount Rushmore.
Keep up the good work Camille,I don't agree with everything you say but I love how you say it and I admire your courage.I'm a big tent guy where you can have varying opinions under the big D. And you don't have to go for someone's jugular when they offer an opinion that differs from yours by more than one percent.

Paglia's Sexism
This will be short. My reaction to Paglia's vituperation re Hillary Clinton (as well as Gloria Steinem) is that she is a shameless woman, exhibiting her own psychic scars and inadequacy. A thoughtful person with even a small amount of humility and intellectual grace would not do a thumbnail psychoanalysis of a complex, gifted public servant, an analysis flawed as well by poor judgment and factual errors.

Bend over Camille...bottom up
David D Larry (or whatever name he goes by) would like to plant his lips on it.

You are part of the reason why women don't have equality in this country (and around the world)
I think Hillary Clinton is a hero to young women everywhere. As a young, highly educated woman I look at her as a trailblazer and an inspiration. Are some women so jealous or resentful of her success that they feel the need to denegrate her as you have? Are we so afraid of our own potential as women that we have to throw ourselves under the bus? Every woman who strives to succeed in a male dominated industry knows it is a fight every day. To characterize a strong woman as a feminazi is an insult to women everywhere. And to blame Hillary Clinton for Bill's mistakes is blatantly unfair. Somehow she is to blame for what he did? Huh? It is discouraging to young women everywhere who are looking to pursue their dreams with the same strength and drive that she has. Not to mention that she is the most qualified and smartest (probably the single most qualified person in the country to tackle health care, arguably the most serious domestic issue facing the country). But you didn't get to policy, accomplishments or positions (in which Obama can't even begin to stack up).
Instead you attacked her for being a successful woman. We don't need the Huckabees and Tim Russerts of the world to put women in their place - we have the supposedly democratic FEMALE press doing it. Seriously I hope that no young woman reads this - it is discouraging to women everywhere. You are the opposite of hillary - where she stands for strength and drive and ability to do what everyone says can't be done, you stand for the old sexists stereotypes, forcing women to be how you think they "should" act, and not "overstepping" their traditional roles. I seriously hope that this column was a joke. If not, I feel very sorry for you because you must hate yourself to write an article so dismissive and degrading toward arguably the most prominant and successful woman on the political scene in America today.
