Loon, Loon, Loony Toons!!! Thanks, Salon!
Crazy Camile is back. I am so glad I'm no longer a Premium Subscriber! Yahoo!!! I can enjoy these columns as the jokes that they are!
I used to think that CP was dragging down Salon, but now I know that Salon is really trying to ruin CP's reputation as an intellectual and as a cultural observer. Otherwise, why would this embarrassing, unedited hack stuff be featured month after month with CP's byline? Go, Salon! We're with you! I guess I'm admitting to a little schadenfreude & thanks to you, Salon, for helping show us how "smart" she really is.

Same old Hillary but Gloria's missing the story
Gloria Steinem's op-ed for Hillary was outrageous and I've been a fan of Gloria's for decades.
Somehow Gloria missed the main point - Hillary's voting record on the war and on Iran count her out - dead out - for the office of President. her time spent as the wife of a president do not count as experience and we certainly haven't seen any evidence of great compassion or ability to lead. I was sadly disappointed, but Camille Pagila nailed it,thanks.

Hillary and Obama both have flaws
Hillary's flaws are well documented by Paglia. But at least she's specific and has a clue that speechifying like "President Bartlett" on the West Wing won't fix anything. Pakistan sliding slow-mo into AQ control. Perhaps with control of their nukes on Osama's wish list at worst, at "best" cutting off the supply of our troops in Afghanistan and causing a Chosin Reservoir fight for survival.
The worst thing Bill Clinton did was sit around and let Pakistan go nuclear in 98 (after the CIA predicted it would be decades the year before). Osama has a nuclear shield above him and is immune to any real threat.
But Obama's problems are big too: no specifics, even weaker than Hillary on military components to threats which must be part of the package, and appeasement to Iran. Then there is his cousin Odinga of Kenya, fighting for control of the Kenyan Presidency. Obama confirmed they've been in phone contact.
Odinga has made (reported by AP/BBC) an agreement with the Muslim League to rewrite the constitution and make Islam the only religion, institute Sharia Law in return for support for his case in becoming President.
At best Obama looks weak and a risk to Americans through entanglement with nasty foreign politico cousins wanting to make Kenya into Iran/Pakistan/Saudi Arabia. At worst the attack ads write themselves. And Obama appears to support Sharia and suppression of any other religion but Islam. Multiculturalism at it's worst.
Hillary is not a nice personality. But she does have a point -- she's vetted and no Raila Odingas will pop up saying their cousin supports their move to enact Sharia law. [Obama's main political experience is in beating Alan Keyes. Gary Coleman could beat Alan Keyes.]

Ditto!
"Camille stands above it all, an intellectual voice unbiased by an agenda, and all she takes for it is abuse. You people are so pathetic. 99% of the comments attacking her are nothing but baseless ad hominem insults. If you disagree with what she says, try and make an intelligent point as to why. But don't just resort to playground name calling... 8 years olds, dude."
Right on! Would all of you Salon letter writers referencing people as "feminazis" please drop the childish, unoriginal, grade-school level insults (and the obvious agenda), and kindly start engaging in a polite and constructive adult conversatio... wait, what's that?
Not the Salon letter writers, you say? Camille? Ms. Paglia? Really? She said that? Gosh! Oh, well, uh...
Nevermind.

The Age of Fossils
An excellent dead-on article with justifiably apt descriptors.
It is beyond me how anyone could support sociopaths in the White House.
A wake up call to those inward looking fellow North Americans!
Like it or not, whomever you choose as the next President and those in Congress affect a lot more than affairs in your own backyard.
The direction and success of many countries is in your hands and the ballot box.

Paglia the Weathervane
The Pag-Hag really put her foot in it this time. She obviously assembled this month's load of toxic waste after the Iowa caucus but before the New Hampshire surprise. Getting her news from Rush Limbaugh and Chris Matthews, she gullibly accepted the dittohead party line that Hillary's viability as a candidate was over and that Obama was a shoo-in. Now she looks like just as big a fool as the idiot pundits she takes her cues from.
"I will vote for Hillary if she is the nominee of my party." Bullshit. The day Paglia steps into the anonymous privacy of a voting booth and casts a vote for any Democrat is the day her hero Rush Limbaugh stops lying and apologizes to Michael J. Fox for viciously mocking him. In other words, the day the sun is blocked by flocks of flying pigs.
Jesus, Paglia, it must really be a drag to wake up every morning and know that you have to be you for another day.

Nice attempt at playing e-psychiatrist
Sadly Camille, playing e-psychiatrist is a louts game, one that marks you the loser. It's near the bottom of the barrel of cheap shots.
I think it's lovely too how you use feminazi, but you always did want to be Rush's little fuck buddy, too bad he prefers little boys from the DR.

cammy & Hilly
Thanks for your psychoanalysis, Dr. Paglia. We should just put a turbine in front of you because you have enough wind to power a small county.

i never thought i'd say this...
but paglia is way off base here. she doesn't seem to grasp the very plain significance of having a female president, and does not give clinton any credit, personally or professionally. instead, she channels her inner-fratboy and labels clinton 'baggage-laden.' her apparent vendetta against clinton seems to me like a product of paglia's own baggage.
anything you need to share, camille?

Paglia is not rational nor centered
Paglia. Full of yourself. What a rant. HRC can do but you CAN'T.
Get out of writing. Your comments are rude, blatantly misinformative trash. If you resemble your writing style, you are a hideous beast. Crude, crafty, cunning.
