I most heartily agree that it is time to close the book on the Clintons and herald the Obamas. However, knowing your work as an author, which I do both admiringly and not, I am amazed that a woman as undeniably brilliant and articulate as yourself disgorges this kind of undiluted bile from time to time, presumably over the assertiveness and vulnerablilities of another woman. Why are you so full of abject malice that you feel you must unload like this? I wonder.

Hillary will not be VP on Obama's ticket because she is white and a woman.She leverages her white female privledges....
In America's pecking order as a white female of privledge HRC could never sacrifice her agenda for the greater good. White females in part because of thier inherent whiteness and thier history of riding on the coatails of white males, have always used this vicarious racial power to leverage themselves at the expense of all others especially Blacks.
HRC as a privledged white woman has an entitlement mindset with regard to Blacks, she feels we owe her ... Hillary had the audacity to toss MLK under the bus to remind Black folks that at the end of the day LBG freed our Black asses . LBG of course was a southern white male like her husband.
White feminist's never connected with Black woman becuase of this surrogate white male demeanor they displayed when they interact with Black woman. Black woman are often victimized twice by white feminists with thier sexism and racism towards them.
Hillary does not have the courage to step back for the country and share power with Obama, she is a reflection and a parrot of her surrogate white male role model who of course rejects any degree of parity and equality with non-whites.
Only a white woman playing the gender card like Hillary would have the audacity to slamm MLK knowing the good negro Obama would not strike back. I gues she knew as a white famale since Obama's mother is white like her she could leverage herself to the degree that she has..

I just had to write this comment. I pretty much agree with the gist of your article, except with the use of the term feminazi. Feminists are by no means Nazis , some of them , and this is a very small minority, can be irritating and downright obnoxious, but they are far from Nazis. Feminazi is a right wing Rush term that should be relegated to the dustbin of fascist propaganda. I can understand your objection to Gloria Steinam's blind sycophantic embrace of Hillery, but Gloria Steinam is not a Nazi,feminist or otherwise. The more appropriate and descriptive term might be paleo-feminist sellout. That's just what I would call her , but if you have a better more descriptive term then that or feminazi be my guest.I just don't think the left is so bereft of creativity that we have to stoop to appropriating right wing propaganda. Leave the Nazi label for the Rush Limbaugh and Micheal Savages in the world where it belongs.

Well, Camille, I can discount the reflexive CP-haters at Salon who set up the chorus every month calling for your scalp. It seems they'll hate you no matter what you write.
But the ones who've criticized you over your use of the term feminazi have a valid point.
Why in the world do you use this term that is so evocative of Rush Limbaugh and all the malice-driven right-wing crap he stands for?
Maybe you used that term to be provocative, Camille, but all you've done is diminish your credibility.

Hope you Democrats are listening
I am a moderate to conservative Republican. I have never voted for a democrat. I like Barack Obama. I MIGHT EVEN VOTE for him should Huckabee or Romney (a male version of Hillary - says whatever his people tell him to say) get nominated. But hear this, I COULD NEVER VOTE FOR HILLARY. I don't trust Hillary or her husband. She has never apologized to "vast right-wing conspiracy", which I guess she would think I was a part of, for being wrong about her cheating, lying husband. Question for Hillary - if you found out that one of your married cabinet members was having an affair IN HIS GOVERNMENT OFFICE, ON GOVERNMENT TIME, with a 21-year old - and the cabinet member lied to you about it until physical evidence turned up - what would you do?
Have any of you actually listened to Hillary's speeches. Have the time she's ranting about the Republicans - the other half about how she can lead everyone. Does anyone believe this? Does anyone believe that she and her Clintonistas don't have enemies lists that would put Nixon's list to shame. Does anyone really want Sandy Berger back in the White House, or Lanny Davis, or McAullife, or Carville, or Blumenthal, or Madelyn Albright. PLEASE!!!
I like Obama. I probably don't agree with him on much but I believe he loves the United States, that he will listen to everyone, and that he truly wants to make things work. I don't believe that power motivates him. Does anyone believe that Hillary has one sincere bone in her body?

Lefties chastise CP for using "feminazi" to describe nazi-like feminists by deriding the supposed origin of the term?
It is the extreme left that has declared the right to be the enemy. It is the left that has declared Rush Limpballs to be hateful and irrelevant. While I despise Limpballs as anyone should, he does often make quite valid points about the left and about feminists when he is not trying to pretend the right is perfect.
Enemy or not, the term 'Feminazi' is nearly perfect in describing the fascistic attitudes in modern day feminism. Sure, many feminists will step up and declare the feminists to be all sweetness and light. Whatever.
People see through the crap more and more. Feminazi is an excellent and ACCURATE term to use to desribe the intolerance, arrogance, man hating agendas, highhandedness, hypocrisy, fetish for fascist forms of power, and narrowmindedness that infests modern feminism.
Whatever DID happen to feminism that did treat men as humans?
