Letters to the Editor

This letter is associated with the following article:
Petraeus' empty words and the real terror threat. Plus: Larry Craig's libidinal misstep is grounded in modern male sexuality.
  • An overrated writer would have an affinity for an overrated POTUS

She lost me right at the first sentence in the 2nd paragraph:

"The Bush administration assures us that, thanks to its invisible hand, we are far safer than we would have been with a bleeding-heart Democrat at the helm. I suspect this is true:"

    WHAT???

Based upon what evidence? Does Paglia believe that the Bush administration have mounted anything like a credible counter-terrorism since 9/11? Because I sure don't. The only thing they seem dedicated to is enriching themselves and their cronies. All the rest feels half-assed and petulant. Much like a Camille Paglia piece for Salon.
