The self-defeating Draft Al campaign is just the tip of the Democrats' woes. Plus: Paris and Lindsay's mommy problems, and the heyday of Hollywood pizazz.

The Democratic candidates suck, quite frankly. I say this as an anti-war conservative who hates Bush so much, I have been a registered Democrat since 2003, and have voted Democratic in the last three congressional elections. Which is to say, I'm the sort of White male swing voter who actually freakin' matters (we'll forget that I live in California, thus nullifying any significance my vote could ever have, never-the-less, guys like me are going to decide who carries states like Ohio and Florida in '08).

The Bush/Cheney administration is so awful, and the at least semi-serious GOP contenders (other than Ron Paul, whom I adore, yet who almost certainly won't be the nominee) so uniformly revolting - I'm speaking of Benito Giuliani, Fred Thompson, "Mitt" Romney (I refuse to believe anyone ever named their child "Mitt"), John McCain, and Mike Huckabee - that I'm actually inclined to vote Democratic in a Presidential election for the first time since 1992 (I've voted for third party & independent candidates ever since).

But if the Democratic Party thinks I'm going to vote for that horrid, shrill, evil, totalitarian gangster, who's only claim to fame is she's the spineless yuppie pseudo-wife of a mediocre, media-hyped, priapatic degenerate of a President, then they've got another think coming. It doesn't matter if I'm right in my loathing of her; 50-55% of the American electorate, including most of the swing voters who actually matter, will always agree with me on this. If you want to win an election, don't nominate a candidate your target audience unformly despises. I have nothing against Barack Obama, other than the fact he's obviously not qualified for the job, but if you think a Black dude raised by a Muslim stepfather, named Barack Hussein Osama, er, I mean "Obama," is going to be elected President next year, you're not very bright. And Edwards is just a sad joke; I wonder what opinions his pollsters have assigned to him this week. That's why the Democrats should nominate Gore, simply because that way, they might not lose. Failing Gore, they should go with Richardson. Jim Webb should be the Veep (or a Gore/Richardson ticket). Anything else, and get used to essentially four more years of Bush/Cheney neo-"conservative" warmongering tyranny and incompetence.
