  • Bette Davis? WTF?

"Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte"? WTF? Who is this old bat with her crazy references to stuff that happened a million years before I was born? Can't Salon find somebody who isn't a 1000 years old to write for them? Can't they find anybody even remotely hip to write for them anymore?

  • Camille and Annie, sitting in a tree...

Am I the only one who gets this "I wuv Annie" vibe from our Camille?

Is Coulter truly oblivious to her gender weirdness? It's no coincidence that words like "tranny" and "transvestite" clog the anti-Coulter blogs.

Isn't that what they write on the anti-Paglia blogs as well?

Coulter is a smart woman with formidable energy, and whether liberals like it or not, she is a high-profile feminist role model in her appetite for aggressive debate.

    Uh huh.

Oh, Camille. Just fess up -- what you really want to do is drop some GHB in Annie's G&T, run your fingers up her bony spine and climb a stepladder so you can nuzzle her giraffe-like neck. After you've finished telling her that only she and Madonna are the two greatest pop icons of the late 20th Century, both of you can whip out your dicks to see who's got the biggest.

Answer: Hillary beats you both by a mile.

  • Hillary was quoting poetry

    ...from a black poet.

And Democrats don't 'have' the NYT, CBS, whatever. The so called mainstream media has been trashing Democrats at least since Jimmy Carter.

They just did it with Hillary--they ran her 'drawl' without mentioning that she was quoting a poem. How is this 'having' the mainstream media?

And I've only read page one. Paglia needs some fact checking before she starts publishing. This would be a favor to her.

  • Oh, Cami. Oh, Salon.

C'mon, Salon. I was almost ready to subscribe again because of Glenn Greenwald. Then I read yesterday's sorry piece of source-stroking from Walter Shapiro -- old media at its lamest -- and then I'm subjected to this sack of tripe again. Jesus, you could program a computer to write a Camille Paglia piece for Salon -- cop a "rebel" opinion or two, drop the names of some old movies to show her pop-cult credentials, drop a few German terms to demonstrate intellectualism. Underpin it all with -- well, nothing. She is, as roughly 600 letter writers pointed out last time, a power fucker. She worships power. Like a lot of lesbians, she worships mannishness. David Geffen is "fagged-out"? What are you, Cami, other than dried out? What kind of intellectual turd has to harp on her own sexuality while at the same time belittling others for theirs? How's this, Cami -- until you grow a dick, I don't respect anything you have to say. Sure it's irrational, but so is your fear and loathing of effeminate men. You're a fraud, and an uninteresting one. And please don't mistake this for me protesting too much. I'm just laying out a simple business model for the morons who've been trying to make this site profitable for 10 years:

Compare this steaming pile of narcissism to any piece Glenn Greenwald has posted in the past two weeks. There's nothing Paglia has to say that's interesting or important -- nothing, nothing, nothing. Forget it, assholes who run Salon. More steak, less sizzle -- or in this case, drizzle. I'm holding on to my money until you decide to spend it on people worthy of the pay.

  • Oh, Nerdnam

How nice that HRC has her own in-house apologist here at Salon. She was quoting black poetry, so that excuses her pandering? Didn't you post enough apologia back on Walter Shapiro's lame suck-up piece? Are you on Hill's payroll, or just angling for a job?

  • oh boy!

More Camille! And a thousand great letters! Cammy, you are truly the puppetmaster. A few words from you and the site goes mad. Can you hear us from all the way out on Pluto?

  • fox "news" is scripted /staged/ produced without any regard for the truth straight out Republican propaganda

why would anyone expect a democrat to read from their script or be put in a position where his ability to improvise was constrained in such as way as to guarantee the production of a right wing propaganda product. Fox is unique in this regard. There is no other American media which resembles it in any way from anywhere on the political spectrum. Does someone as intelligent as Paglia really not see this?

  • Camille... You have got to be kidding!

"Democrats have ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, the New York Times, Newsweek, Time... to do their bidding."

Camille... You have got to be kidding! Which of the news sources you mention stood up and asked George W. to prove that we needed to go to war with Iraq? Which asked to show us that there was a tie between AlQuaeda and Sadaam Hussein? Which asked to see where the WMDs were on the satellite photos? Which questiones why we needed a Patriot Act that had so many measures that had nothing to do with defending the United States but had everything to do with seizing and centralizing political power?

Which of these news companies has demonstrated that they favor Democrats, or Liberals, or Progressives?

Jack Welch, as head of GE, owners of NBC, made a pre-election deal with Karl Rove to do everything he could, to use his network, to get George W. Bush elected. He admitted to this, saying that a Bush presidency would bring in more profits for his stockholders. That's one. The New York Times refused to run the story that George W. Bush had deserted his unit, even though it was front page news in the Boston Globe. Fully half of the Op-Ed writers on the Times are conservatives, some of whom have made it a major part of their routine to bash Democrats, even if it means making up stories and creating names that I would have thought beneath the dignity of that paper.

I won't go on... there are dozens of examples from each one of the companies you name. I am sadly disappointed that you would write something so patently wron and wrongheaded. I expect better of you.

  • Yawn, didn't get past the first page

Democrats have ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, the New York Times, Newsweek, Time ... blah blah blah. Laughable. Camille, there is a reason one shouldn't listen to the propaganda spewing from Fox, Rush, Hannity and Drudge and it is the same reason you shouldn't play your music too loud. Faculties are lost in the process. Just thinking about how many hours you spend a day listening to these nincompoops makes me want to hurl.
