    oh yes...

    Thanks for the mention of the Hamm's Beer sign... as a child raised in San Francisco, I remember being charmed by it as I rode along in the family station wagon after visiting relatives in the East Bay! It's right up there with the Doggy Diner heads, which I think still exist somewhere in the City, as well as the Mr. Peanuts figures that perched on the roof of the Planters warehouse.
