    It really comes down to what do you think the responsibility of the state is?

    Should it even bother to protect people? Why have police - most people don't get murdered? Why have seatbelts? Why have the FDA? Why have any laws at all? If there is no duty on the state to protect its citizens then you should say that. Of course when people take matters in their own hands you'll criticize the Jews for doing that as well. Unless you're truly ready to put your money where your mouth is and start espousing 'jewhad' where Israelis systematically go to Gaza to suicide bomb mosques, buses and restaurants in lieu of the army trying to protect its citizens?
