The Israel rules America's support of the Gaza attack proves once again that our mythical image of Israel has blinded us to its faults -- a myopia with devastating consequences for both countries.

  • "God fights on our side!"

"According to the Bible God gave the Jews permission to kill every man, woman and child living there so they could posses the land. Israel is merely continuing a long tradition."

And "The Eternal Jew" gave Germans permission to kill every man, woman and child living as Jews.

    Guess that made it okay.

  • Keyboard Warriors

Now is the time to prosecute an all out war on radical fundamentalist Islam and all violent religious irrationality. The world would be far more peaceful, and the average IQ would increase. (There are no Muslim countries in the top 40 IQ nations in the world.)

    -- rwruger

As long as someone else fights it while you play cheerleader from behind the safety of your keyboard, right?

  • Israel to Hamas: "Puhleez don't do unto us what we do to you!"

"Hamas today announced they had legitimacy to kill all Jewish children everywhere in the world"

Why not? They just need to say they were shooting at "terrorists" and somehow the kids got in the way. Or announce that they are "investigating" the matter. Or claim IDF soldiers used the kids as human shields.

It sends Israeli apologists into tizzies whenever whipping boys find ways to fight back.

Jewish kids are not more innocent or valuable than Arab children gleefully killed by IDF cowards (Remember the brave IDF captain who shot an Arab schoolgirl in the head 26 times...then got promoted?)

The Jewish State acts shocked, shocked when the world views its actions as embodying Judaism. It claims to be home to all Jews, acting in the name of all Jews, then wonders why Jews around the world become targets of those it brutalizes.

The Third Reich has nothing on Israel when it comes to thuggery, hypocrisy, and cluelessness.

  • @rwruger, you write that the innocent children killed in this 12th day of the all-out attack on Gaza

may be the "future rocketeers". Wasn't Shakespeare an amazing man when he could anticipate somebody like you in his play "Macbeth"! Having arranged to have Banquo and his young son, Fleance killed, the usurper to the throne, Macbeth, is enraged when the assassins tell him that the boy has escaped. He may some day return and demand vengeance for his father's death. It's very likely that the children of Gaza who have endured such awful suffering from the Israeli attack for 12 days and nights will grow up with an implacable hatred of Israel and, indeed, America. Rocketeers? Yes and probably more skilled in the technology of warfare than Hamas is today.

By then, the story of the Jewish Holocaust will be just another tale of genocide, overtaken by Rwanda and other places where inhumanity prevails.

  • DR AMY DO YOU WANT TO DANCE?

The Nazi Angel of Death, Dr. Josef Mengele, criticised Israel for its "persecution" of the Palestinians as early as 1969. Interesting isn't it? It takes one to know one. Please respond.

Don't be a stranger; if I see your posts I'll answer you. I think we can have a meaningful discussion on Israel. If I don't get back to you its because I am working.

  • All out war on Islam

Now is the time to prosecute an all out war on radical fundamentalist Islam and all violent religious irrationality. The world would be far more peaceful, and the average IQ would increase. (There are no Muslim countries in the top 40 IQ nations in the world.)

    -- rwruger

I know! We can start by identifying all Muslims. Hmmm, maybe they could wear an armband or something, maybe a green one, with a crescent? Yeah, that's the ticket. Then, we can start rounding them up and shipping them off to camps where they won't be able to infect the rest of us with their deviant ways. Really, it's for the world's good and it will all be done scientifically and neatly. Once the world is rid of the Muslim filth, we can all bask in the fact that the world is cleaner, safer and smarter! Yeay, us!

You have such interesting ideas, rwruger. But somehow, they seem vaguely familiar... Can't quite figure out what they remind me of... If it comes to me, I'll let you know.

  • @ Maureenodonnell

Oh, Miss Maureen, let's run off to Iona and jump into the sea, when Birnam Wood shall to Dunsinane.

    Okay?

  • MerelyMortalMale

The Jewish State acts shocked, shocked when the world views its actions as embodying Judaism. It claims to be home to all Jews, acting in the name of all Jews, then wonders why Jews around the world become targets of those it brutalizes.

The Third Reich has nothing on Israel when it comes to thuggery, hypocrisy, and cluelessness.

One of the Zionists most saleable commodity is crocodile tears. It's too bad they are so salty, or else they could be used as a water supply instead of stealing from its neighbors.

  • Of Indian givers and Arab land thieves

"Why haven't you given back your property to the Native Americans?"

We SHOULD probably do more to compensate them, aside from reservations and casinos.

That being said, any Indian if free to live in any state as an equal. That's not true for Arab Israelis, certainly not Palestinians.

Reservations also are considered independent nations.

Plus they are not surrounded by separation walls and residents aren't starved by sealed borders.

Plus there's great sensitivity shown toward all things "native" now.

  • Dr. G. your rhyming skills are very poor and, as they say in Cockney rhyming slang, I think

you're Brahms & Lizst (i.e. "pissed") and I'm not running anywhere with an American. My instinct is to be on the side of the oppressed and that's what the civilian population is, poor, humiliated and abandoned. Israel's latest story about the UN school is that Hamas gunmen were in the VICINITY of the school, not INSIDE it, a lie they tried to foist on the world.

As Birnam Wood seemed to move towards Dunsinane, Macbeth feels fatalistic: "I begin to be aweary of the sun". I understand what is meant by those words, having seen Israel copying the methods of those who persecuted and killed their fellow-Jews.

  • @ Maureenodonnell

Ah, no. Didn't try to rhyme. That's probably beyond me, and am not "pissed." (Neither angry nor drunk.)

All us Yanks aren't on the side of the Israelis, you know, including this one.

But, since you brought up "Macbeth" I thought I'd mention Iona, as the old boy is supposed to be buried there among his fellow kings. (Actually, I'm more of a Hamlet sorta fella, myself.)
