The Israel rules

America's support of the Gaza attack proves once again that our mythical image of Israel has blinded us to its faults -- a myopia with devastating consequences for both countries.

Even the AP reports that the 'school' was a base of operations

You know, because Jews control all media. Especially AP which has gone on a 10 year war against Israel and often doctors photos to make Israel look guilty......Goddamn those super sneaky Jews.

Interesting Washington Post Article

John Boltson, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N. had an interesting opinion piece published in the Washington Post on Monday. Essentially he is advocating that the whole of Gaza be returned to Egyptian control. He states the Palesinitan leadership (the PA and Hammas) has failed and been either unwilling or incapable of protecting their people or stabilizing the region. He argues that the only way to stabilize and grow Gaza's economy would be for Egypt to take a larger role. I would like to see this idea floated around. Sure would take care of the issue of a contiguous Palestinian state. He also argues Palestinian portions the West Bank be returned to Jordan. The only problem is Egypt and Jordan don't want to have anything to do with the Palestinians.

UK Muslim forum compiles hit list of UK Jews

http://ummah.com/forum/showthread.php?t=195566

In their own words, a hit list of prominent UK Jews targeted for assassination. Chris Sinnard must have a hardon for that. You know, because if you kill Jews, it's their own fault.

@ Wallaby, who provided that information? In your rugby-playing days you must have met

Mark Regev, the "Crocodile Dundee" for the Israeli Prime Minister, who's exerting himself considerably in trying to get "the message" across despite the contradictory statements of UN personnel Chris Gunness and John Ging.

What's more, Mr. Australia, two members of the Un staff were killed by Israeli gunfire on Monday and the INTERNATIONAL media is being kept at bay a mile or two outside the border with southern Israel and Gaza.

Let us get real

“About 300 of the more than 670 Palestinians killed so far are civilians, according to Palestinian and U.N. figures. Of those killed, at least 130 are children age 16 and under, says the Gaza-based Palestinian Center for Human Rights, which tracks casualties.”

I am quoting from “Israel conditionally welcomes cease-fire proposal” as reported by IBRAHIM BARZAK and MATTI FRIEDMAN on the January 7, 2009 of The Huffington Post. A military operation causing almost half of the casualties among civilians, and one third of these civilian casualties being among children, could difficulty be considered a successful operation by any military planner in his sane mind. Either this military operation has been planned by criminally incompetent buffoons or, what is more likely, it was designed from the beginning as a massive retaliation and collective punishment against the population of Gaza.

The supporters of the Israeli aggression may always argue that ‘the terrorist hide among the civilian population’, an explanation that I strongly doubt for reasons too long to explain now, but the truth is that these ‘metrics’, as the military analysts would say, begin to remind me to those of the Warsaw Ghetto when the Wehrmacht crushed the uprising. The latter is said by someone who grew as a Zionist.

Jonathan

Here is what you posted in respose to Malkatraz:

"As to your other point, that Israel's making goodwill gestures to the Palestinian population will dry up Hamas support, you obviously don't understand mentalities other than your own. This isn't your fault, but you need to acknowledge that a fundamentalist Moslem Palestinian doesnt' think like you. If you don't, you can't say you really respect their culture. Israel WITHDREW COMPLETELY from Gaza. Their reaction was the Israelis are weak, so we can abuse them. And they have been doing just that for years."

You imply in it that all Palestinians are fundamentalist Moslem and therefore any gestures of goodwill are bootless. And you asserted that Israel WITHDREW COMPLETELY from Gaza. Well, all Palestinians are not radical extremists, in fact a majority are not. And Malkatraz's proposal that gestures of goodwill toward that majority rather than punishing it for the actions of a minority might prove more fruitful for Israel seems rational in that light and could work. And Isreal did not WITHDRAW COMPLETELY from Gaza. It controls Gaza's airspace and borders and therefore is still legally in control. It can and has cut the Gazans' food, medical supplies and adversely impacted the quality of their lives.

Imagine if the majority of Palestinians were safe, happy in their own homes, prosperous and fairly treated. Do you really think that they would allow a small minority of extremists to mess that up? The problem is that Israel has never allowed them to taste that happy state. It wags it like a carrot in front of them and then does not follow through or does so in a way that negates any possible good effect like the phoney "pull out." Can you blame the Palestinians for ceasing to believe in Israel's good faith?

Oh, Wallaby, you've gone down even further in my estimation as that "hit-list of Jews" is from

the Sun (UK) newspaper which is such a rag that only those who want to stare at women's mammary glands (breasts), read about Amy Winehouse's latest caper, and are keen on "footie" (soccer) read it and, even then, they should have the sense to hide it inside a real newspaper unless they're willing to allow strangers make an immediate assessment of their low 1Q.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 08:56 AM

the link is to the actual forum source no the newspaper

Sorry Maureen, reading is fundamentalist. Try ritalin if you feel your attention span is too short. Kiss-noise.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 09:06 AM

Wallaby, keep your kisses for kangaroos and Mark Regev.

I have far more trust in UN officials Gunness (English) and Ging(Irish) than in the words and writings of people who are employed by the State of Israel. With its exponentially superior striking-power, funded by the USA, Israel will certainly win the battle but you've already lost the war in world opinion among those who are not identified as a people by a State religion.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 09:24 AM

@ maureenodonnell

You say, " . . . only those who want to stare at women's mammary glands (breasts) . . ." as if that's a bad thing. Well, I beg to disagree!

(Still embarrassed over the Finnigan's Rainbow/Wake blooper, don't you know?)

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 09:25 AM

In another example....

The White House press secretary yesterday made reference to "our ally Israel." The U.S. and Israel may have a "special relationship," but I wasn't aware of any treaty or other agreement that could constitute an alliance.

Wednesday, January 7, 2009 09:27 AM

The standard of writing is really deteriorating around here. Wallaby is enough of a sad-sack

without being joined by Liberal Uber Alles. These "reservists" are paricularly pathetic; they should pick up their knitting and try to perfect the intricacies of the moss stitch - plain and purl.
