No one ever spoke a truer word, Terkoy: "NOBODY'S PERFECT"!!
Obama is not perfect, not by a long shot - but he is what he is and he's looking better all the time. (And, by the way, none of his supporters has claimed he is perfect).
But measured against GW Bush, that godawful liar, torturer, thief and War Criminal (whom you amazingly elected to lead the USA since 2000!), who has brought the USA to the sorry state it is in today, economically, morally, as a democracy?
And measured against John McBush, sorry McCain - the true inheritor of GW Bush, who is, in fact, self-admittedly at least 90% of GW Bush, War Criminal?
Read David Sedaris' piece "Undecided" in the New Yorker, to get absolutely the best perspective I've yet seen on making a choice in this election: it's like deciding between a chicken dish (Obama) and a platter of shit (George McBush). [I've quoted Sedaris' very accurate description of the choice in earlier postings of mine - it's very easy to look up right here].

You can put lipstick on a ship, it takes a lot of lipstick, but it still can't sniff out the truffles.
The stench of a crew full of creeps does not help ...
all add up to the total picture. The little things like the flag pin which I didn't notice but stood out by its absence with everyone else in political circles regarding it as de rigeur, then the widely circulated picture of everyone including Hillary lined up with their hand over their heart and here again everyone but Obama. When I was in school in the paleolithic age we recited the Lord's prayer followed by the pledge with our hand over our heart so it's obvious by its omission.
That along with talk of the madrasa leads to a persistent pervasive ambience of Muslim influence, so is he is or is he ain't? The Americanization of Obama came later.
At first Obama acknowledged Jeremiah Wright as avuncular and he could not dissociate himself from him. As far as MSM was concerned case closed. To open it again was racist.
Short time later when the Wright issue continued to bubble and fester Obama denounced Wright, said he'd retired and that's the end of that. Once again MSM said it's racist to resuscitate this character. Someone mentioned Oprah left the church when his rants became offensive.
Since the Iowa caucus is open and not a secret ballot everyone said sure they're not prejudiced and let Obama win.
After that he had a tougher time with Hillary garnering primary majorities, which ruffled the likes of Sharpton who wondered what the problem could be with these folks.
Lower office ward healers are open to minorities but the guy at the top has been white with deviations such as Catholicism slowly becoming acceptable although the evangelicals will always resist Mormon Romney who would be best for our country; he must have liberal leanings somewhere to become gov. of Mass. When mayor of Los Angeles Tom Bradley aspired to gov. of CA in '92 everyone said sure, why not, and he was ahead in the polls until everyone voted (analogous to Iowa).
USA still functions on the founding fathers' basic tenets and to introduce international socialism grates against tradition; 180 degrees will not be acceptable to most of us. Unfortunately there is more at the bottom than at the top and many are falling for the smoke and mirrors put forth by Obama (no taxes, tax reduction). McCain isn't shy about spending money and that's one place Bush came up short, not using the veto pen.
from the American way of life where the founding fathers offered unlimited opportunity to those who choose to achieve it and not let the morons at the top determine whether or not you have too much wealth and should share it. Jesus said the poor will be with us always. As we know if the wealth is evenly divided, very soon reversion takes place.
Reagan reduced taxes, the nation surged ahead and the govt. gained revenue. Star Wars crumbled USSR and the Berlin Wall.
Laws put in place to prevent greed causing financial collapse were repealed by Clinton. They should be reinstated.
USA doesn't need rampant socialism, amnesty or anything to create dependence upon which liberals thrive.
Let's get back to Reagan's resuscitation of our founding fathers' ideals.
The modern conservative movement is dying in front of our eyes, and its death throes aren't pretty
Funny, those death throes look absolutely gorgeous to me. Now if we can keep the usual gang of idiots from attempting to perform CPR on the stinking corpse, we might just be rid of these assholes permanently.
Well, I must say that is at least a step forward (a small step, in my view) from those platters full of you-know-what-but-don't-like-to-say-it-in-polite-company, GW Bush and John McCain. (An improvement, certainly over Bush and McBush - it doesn't take much to make an improvement over GW Bush and John McBush).
Too bad you don't have your Reagan available now. You do have McCain. You do have Obama (and increasingly it begins to appear that you are going to have Obama, whether or not he's too radical for you; not McBush enough for you; etc - this is assuming the dirty tricks don't work. If the dirty tricks do work, as I'm sure y'all are aiming for, then you may get your McBush in after all).
I for one believe that Obama would actually trump Reagan any day of the week: I speak not as a supporter of Obama, but as one who is utterly fed up by the mess created worldwide by your GW Bush, War Criminal.

And euthanise Rush.
"losing the election but try high interest rates and all things social that affected the average US citizen. The economy was in a shambles because Dems ran Congress so everything got crazy with weak sister Carter at the helm."
No, that's not what happened. I was there and I remember.
The stagflation of the 1970s started long before Carter took office. It was driven by the jumps in oil prices caused by OPEC, helped by the deficit spending of several previous administrations (most notably LBJ) to pay for Vietnam, the space race, the arms race and the Great Society.
"Sure the icing was on the cake once Khomeini found out USA was a paper tiger and could pull off the hostage gig."
What was the alternative? The Soviet Union was right next door to Iran.
"We're heading down the same road right now with hapless Obama and his sleazy friends."
No, Obama & Co. will take a different road. The bad road we're on is because of Shrub, who starts wars without though of how to finish them, and who can't seem to find the #1 guy.
"The day Reagan took office the hostages were released for obvious reasons."
You mean the back-door negotiations of arms for hostages? Look up "Iran-contra" for a start.
The Iranians simply wanted to humiliate and punish Carter for letting the shah into the USA. They succeeded.
"Ronaldo Magnus would have made Iran glow at 7000 degrees which should have been done 30 years ago."
So the USA should have committed mass murder over a few dozen hostages? How do you think the rest of the world would react to that?
