  • A lot of people here have a lot in common with Sarah Censorshp Palin

Lord love all of these lily livered "liberals."

  • @Klytus not really, holmes

There is more than a little hypocrisy here. And however funny to a few, I don't see this article as being helpful overall to cause Obama. And truly, if I want to get some vile snark, I head over to Wonkette. They really do a superior job, and have no pretentions to any form of moral superiority, unlike here. I particularly enjoy the Obama with cig pic. Very Chicago.

Is that why women like her, because she's cute?

Do women subscribe to Elle magazine or In Style?

When women go to a high-end cocktail party, do they check out the men? Hell no. They're checking out the competition:

"I just love what you've done with your hair, dah-ling! When are we doing lunch again?"

Honestly, to answer your question, women genuinely admire other women who are attractive, no matter how much they hate them.

Don't you know anything about women?

  • For Kamiya's next act...

Will we see a photo-shopped Obama in an oversized, feather-sporting fedora and holding a diamond-tipped swaggerstick as tries to "Pimp Out" America?

Oh, wait--Obama's a Democrat, so that would be racist.

    Found in 60 seconds....

“She is. She's lovely. I think she's beautiful," Cindy McCain said in response to the comment.

"Well there's obvious differences," he joked during a roundtable discussion on the economy this afternoon. "She's good looking." Joe Biden

David Zucker on GOP babe Sarah Palin: “She's hot!”

Rush Limbaugh: “Yeah, plus she's a housewife, before that, she's a babe. I saw a picture.”

  • Exhibit #12,000,000,000

why McCain will lose. Because Americans are fucking children distracted by stupid bullshit, like a photoshopped picture of Sarah Palin in a dominatrix outfit. Can we talk about some fucking issues, please? This plays right into Republican hands.

  • Shame on you Gary!!!

    you naughty, naughty boy.

  • Whoops

Why McCain will win, I meant.

  • Gary, Gary, Gary...

Th GOP's only hope is to cast this as a battle of images? I thought that was everyone's only hope. It's certainly the strategy Salon seems most inclined to use. I want to make up some aphorism, about cursing the cow you are milking, but why bother.

...Mayor Sarah Palin, Maverick, Fiscal Conservative, also had citizens of Wasilla pick up the bill for their own forensics tests ... They were charging rape victims to get the kit to record the evidence of their own rape.

    That's just crude.

Palin seems to have no sympathy at all for the feelings of women. McCain should get her signed up for some of that gender-based sensitivity training.

    Properly attired, of course.

  • So when do the Sarah Palin nutcrackers go on sale?

It turns out that all the hoo-ha in Salon about sexism and Hillary Clinton was just so much meaningless cheerleading. Now that the lady's on the other team, it's gloves off with the sexism.

I'm an Obama supporter and I am terrified of a McCain/Palin administration, but this article and picture represent a really astonishing degree of hypocrisy on Salon's part. They will do nothing but support Palin's claims of sexism. And frankly, although I really don't like anything about Palin, Salon's (and HuffPo's) coverage of her has really begun to get me thinking that liberals really have run out of arguments.

I'll be voting and supporting Obama regardless of the crap you publish, but if Obama loses, I'll put part of the blame on the hysterical and offensive response to Palin on the part of the likes of Salon and HuffPo.

Stop making her look better than you, please.

  • Uh Huh

“She is. She's lovely. I think she's beautiful," Cindy McCain said in response to the comment.

"Well there's obvious differences," he joked during a roundtable discussion on the economy this afternoon. "She's good looking." Joe Biden

So Cindy's voting for her husband because she's attracted to his running mate. And Biden's voting against himself for the same reason. I do not doubt that there are some people out there who think she's decent-looking. But there's no evidence that significant numbers of people are going to vote for McCain for that reason, anymore than there's evidence that Obama's popularity is fueled by his looks.

Is there any functional difference between a "maverick" and a "loose cannon"?

  • anyone remember...

...the pictures of Bill and HIllary in S&M garb? It was a joke. They made refrigerator magnets of them. My parents (Republicans) had them on their refrigerator. It's not a big deal to have this picture of her.

  • Whoops

Gary, my hapa brother, you whiffed on this one. Channeling Maureen Dowd a bit too much.

  • @ Klytus

Would you be whining about censorship or oversensitivity if it were an article featuring a picture of Obama photoshopped to look like KKK propoganda of a lecherous, jobless Negro out to rape innocent white daughters?

STFU. Everyone knows you're just a troll and a hack, but now it's getting annoying.

  • Where do I submit a resume?

Because surely someone's been fired over this one.

Come on people, are you Manchurian editors or just 2/3 retarded?

    Seriously stupid. Seriously sexist.

  • Its All About the Page Views

Just think of the controversy! The page views! A piece of sexist, offensive piece of crap published for no other reason than to generate site traffic. Not clever. Not insightful. This should never have made it past the editor, who owes us an explanation as to why this isn't the same kind of sexist crap she and other Salon writers were railing against during the primaries.

Republicans are right. Palin is driving some on the left bat-shit crazy. Thanks for nothing.

  • NO

MAYBE MAYBE MAYBE if it was in cartoon form, but even then only MAYBE. Using real photos and stitching them together = vapid, contemptuous, disrespectful, and frankly it makes you look frightened that this election may be taken away from you.

Peggy Noonan is right: you'll have to kill Palin right quick.

But you're giving McCain-Palin FULL LICENSE to ride a wave of media resentment straight into the White House. That's what this messages says, putting this image on the homepage: We, Salon, relinquish all responsibility going forward.

Where does Joe Biden get photoshopped into a cod piece? I mean where, OUTSIDE the gutter?

Salon, you've stepped in it. THIS IS THE MAIN IMAGE ON YOUR HOMEPAGE! Who is responsible for that?
