Way to stay classy, Kamiya, Walsh, Salon...why am I a premium member again?

  • @ AI

Thanks! Appreciate the support. Off hand I can't suggest a lot of improvements to comments section other than those on slashdot, which I really like.

And for all you people who are still going on and on Gary putting lipstick on the pig, as Obama just said, "Spare me the phony outrage".

America is still in Iraq and the Afhgan where US forces just tore over 90 women and children to pieces. Save your outrage for something that actually matters. It's called perspective.

  • This is such bad taste

This article is in such bad taste. It would be an outrage to see Mr. Obama portrayed as lil black Sambo. But to portray Sarah Palin in this manner is over that top. This article should be pulled down and and an apology put in its place.

  • How to Contact theThought Police

    Elizabeth Plumley (September 10, 2008 10:38 AM):

    "sexism, sexualization, sexual violence

"Will someone please tell me how to inform the proper authorities that this outlet of "media" is committing violence against all women and their children? Is there an office to call or email. This picture and article are vile and unrepentant misogyny."

Why, yes, Ms. Plumley, you may call or write the following Government Authority:

    Thought and Political Correctness Police

Department of Homeland Security, Division 1984

    Office of Total Information Awareness

    Washington, DC 20001

To elicit the most timely response, I highly recommend mentioning that our National Security is at stake.

Hope that's helpful, no need to thank me,

    Sincereliest yours,

    Orville Tudball,

    Assistant to the Assistant Director

    of Emergency Management,

    Dep't. of Homeland Security,

  • Dominatrix Palin

You accuse Palin of demonizing her opponent, while you call her a "dominatrix?" That's funny. I don't think she wants to dominate us at all. I think it's Obama who wants to dominate Americans that are guilty of over-consumption, not knowing more than one language(I know two and am from the rural south), and supposed middle American narrow-mindedness. She was just biting back. It's what empowered, independent women should do. Maybe democrats want submissive women.

Or maybe Gary Kamiya wants a spanking. Sexualize women who threaten you, and expect to be sexualized yourself, Kamiya.

  • Too "personal" for me

I am truly amazed that the author revealed so much

about his inner problem with women.

  • An insult to dominatrices everywhere

I love the image though. I don't see how it's sexist. What is this - every time a woman appears in less than funerary garb in the mass media, its sexist? come on already! And no, its not equivalent to the Obama in Osama garb. Last time I heard, dom's were not on America's most wanted list.

    Ms Plumley:

I jest reelized I forgot to give you the street address

of Thought Police HQ in our Nation's capitol.

    Hit's 1984 Enhanced Interrogation Drive, Room 666.

    Sorry for inny inconveneyence.

  • The Policy of "Terrorist" Extermination and "Collateral Damage"

    Bill Owen (September 10, 2008 12:14 PM):

"America is still in Iraq and the Afhgan where US forces just tore over 90 women and children to pieces. Save your outrage for something that actually matters. It's called perspective."

    ---

Yes, and tragically, with US counter-terrorism limited to an exclusively belligerent monomaniacal policy of imprisoning or exterminating every last "terrorist" on earth, rather than addressing Islamic grievances such as those pointed out by former CIA Bin Laden Unit Chief, Michael Schurer (Imperial Hubris, Through Our Enemies' Eyes) we may expect a great deal more "collateral damage" inflicted by US forces on innocent Muslim men, women, and children throughout the Middle East.

  • Republican "domination"

Associative Individualist is correct when he points out the wrong headedness of American/neocon/likudnik policies. Killing them all, is indeed the name of the game. Killing someone, vaporising them in a hail of minigun rounds is the ultimate form of domination and to the extent the Foxy Palin supports the indiscriminate liquidation of some nebulous 'enemy' she fits the dominatrix shoes quite well.

How wrongheaded is it? It's probable that "coalition" forces (read credulous, coerced Canadians, Brits and of course good god fearing American boys) have killed more civilians than the the Taleban themselves.

All you Kamiya haters please feel free to ignore this gruesome statistic, as you have ignored so many inconvenient others, and please continue to focus on the oh so shocking and important 'fact' that Gary Kamiya is a sexist pig. I am not sure about the state of his lips.

  • Cult of Personality -

“The tough-talking, gun-toting ‘hockey mom’… has shifted the election from being about issues into a personality contest.”

It’s just NOW becoming a personality contest? Have you not heard of this ‘Barack Obama’ fellow?

I get it: You guys want the Democrats to win... fair enough. But with cult of personality playing such a HUGE role in Obama's success, I'm stunned that anyone (short of DailyKos) would - with a straight face - characterize the Palin development as a "shift" to personality contest. Anyone who claims it hasn't been all along is kidding themselves.

  • Grievances?

--rather than addressing Islamic grievances --

    Are you serious?

I could not care less about the "grievances" of people who honor kill their daughter who get raped, cut out women's clitorises with rusty razors, put fatwahs on the heads of anyone who converts to another religion, express regret that Hitler didn't finish the job or celebrate when some of their fellow travellers kill my fellow Americans.

There is NO negotiation with these people. There is simply kill or be killed.

    Your choice.

  • Who's "doing" who?

We all need to remember those late nights of going to bed with a "10" and waking up with a "2". Believe me, the only people who will be screwed in this relationship are people like you and me.
