Salon, you should be ashamed. Please return to the days when you were respectable and respected.
Dude,
It's you who can't be taken seriously in this debate, especially after this post. Don't assume to speak for the masses, and if you want to speak for yourself, I'd advise you to keep it private where issues of this election are concerned. It's for your own good..and credibility. You're welcome.
• Palin did not cut funding for special needs education in Alaska by 62%. She didn't cut it at all. In fact, she tripled per-pupil funding over just three years.
• She did not demand that books be banned from the Wasilla library. Some of the books on a widely circulated list were not even in print at the time. The librarian has said Palin asked a "What if?" question, but the librarian continued in her job through most of Palin's first term.
• She was never a member of the Alaskan Independence Party, a group that wants Alaskans to vote on whether they wish to secede from the United States. She’s been registered as a Republican since May 1982.
• Palin never endorsed or supported Pat Buchanan for president. She once wore a Buchanan button as a "courtesy" when he visited Wasilla, but shortly afterward she was appointed to co-chair of the campaign of Steve Forbes in the state.
• Palin has not pushed for teaching creationism in Alaska's schools. She has said that students should be allowed to "debate both sides" of the evolution question, but she also said creationism "doesn't have to be part of the curriculum."

Lyndon LaRouche bought Salon.
That would explain everything.
Occam's Razor.
Salon, you have sunk to new, slimier, lows.
On the other hand, if you are going to completely shed all journalistic and intellectual integrity, you might as well go the full nine.
Good luck in your new role.
nasty nasty
she's a piece of work, I'll give you that...but this is just offensive.
then again, we liberals are always offended by the rude or offensive whereas the other side would have probably done this if it was hillary on the ticket with obama.
It's not bad enough that she's a looney-tune, huh?
Look, I despise Sarah Palin as much as the next person. But this picture and the whole premise of the article is insanely offensive.
I heard Newt Gingrich accuse John Stewart of sexism the other night, and I almost laughed myself out of my chair. But now I see that they're right - thanks for giving those scumbags a valid point!
I think Gary got to the core of Sarah Palin and her attraction to certain individuals, but that's only meaningful to the small minority of Americans who really understand and care what he's talking about.
Unfortunately, he also nailed Obama, so boring and droning in his latest public appearances. Don't the Dems have anyone who understands image? Pacing a stage tieless, in shirtsleeves, rambling into a microphone, does not an appeal to blue collars make. He doesn't look presidential, he looks like a community organizer. He needs to get after the big issues, big time, to a big audience, and more than anything else, "drill" the Repubs on the economy, which is (and will continue to be) so much in the news and so much on everyone's minds.
Who knew republicans had such delicate sensibilities?
"Let the Democrats appeal to reason -- the Grand Old Party is casting its lot with drives located deeper within America's collective reptilian brain."
Let me ask another question-how much sleep do you think the Republicans would lose worrying that their portrayals of Hillary Clinton-were she the nominee-were sexist?
"She has said that students should be allowed to "debate both sides" of the evolution question,"
"Both sides" of "the evolutionary question"? What both sides? So this is what it's come to, eh? now there are multiple possible theories, one that is science based and the other that is a fantasy of Humans still believing things that people 1,000 years ago came up with? Palin, like Huckabee and like several others aught to be disqualified from holding any public office for even suggesting a strictly theological theory be taught in public schools.
This piece is foaming at the mouth. I think there are interesting and legitimate issues to explore about sex appeal and politics but you haven't really done more than use them as a launch pad for the aforementioned foaming. Basically, the sex appeal of Barack Obama has been met and trumped by the sex appeal of Sarah Palin.
So Gingrich accuses Stewart of sexism and now he's right because of an article by Kamiya? Your logic is staggering.
The picture would be funny if there weren’t so much blatant sexism going on already. I have warned my liberal male friends that they need to stick to the issues when criticizing Palin. If they don’t, a lot of moderate women are going to defect. I mean if the left and the right are both sexist then who the hell cares? Why not vote for the woman? I know at least 3 women who have switched their vote to McCain/Palin for precisely this reason. This shit just needs to stop. The issues are just too important and if the Supreme Court is lost to these right wing wacky-doos it will be the left’s own doing.
Fluff.
I cannot believe you wrote this. What a sexist crock of sh*t.
You Obots have lost your minds. The reason Obama will lose is because he is an incurable narcissist. If he wanted to win, the way was simple: Put Hillary on the ticket. But no. Ego's too big for that.
Bye, bye, BO...
-"I mean if the left and the right are both sexist then who the hell cares? Why not vote for the woman?"-
Well, I sure hope your friends or their daughter's or their grand daughters don't ever need to get an abortion. We are meant to choose between McCain and Obama, so look at what they'd do policy wise, don't be swayed by whatever other discussion is going on amongst supporters. amazingly, we've reached a point where white women will vote for McCain (Palin) just to spite men and say they got a woman in the white house. In doing they dig a grave for all of us.
