The dominatrix

Sarah Palin is trying to seduce independent voters. But she comes across like a whip-wielding mistress who wants to discipline a naughty America.

Let me add

that it is something of the biggest irony yet that the very folks who were swooning over a pop star type of candidate are now freaked out because there's a new sensation replacing the one folks are done with--and she has designer glasses! That's cheating! I think some people were trying to tell the Obama groupies that this sort of stuff is not a good approach to politics. It's to be predicted that fickle public opinion, when appealed to at its most shallow ("We are the ones we've been waiting for.") can turn on a dime. The Democratic Party should try placing its bets on something more solid. Oh, and for another laugh, I now read that Obama's breaking a promse and turning his back on public funding, counting on his rock star appeal to bring in massive money, isn't working so well. The money isn't coming in in the amount expected, and McCain is free just to camaign, while The One has to dial for dollars. I prefer Democratic Party policies on lots of things, but I am having a good belly laugh, perhaps like the one said to have broken out in newsrooms when Palin was announced.

I dunno, Gary

They reelected Shrub in 2004, didn't they? A more colossal example of collective stupidity is hard to imagine. And I don't think they've gotten any smarter. When 62% of the respondents say that Shrub's performance is either poor, very poor, or the worst in American history, you shouldn't be having a neck and neck race with Shrub II. But there you have it.

So I have a bad feeling about this....

re slick

"slick, unqualified, right-wing extremist and religious zealot in designer glasses"

Could be re-written for The Obamath:

"slick, unqualified, left-wing extremist and religious zealot in designer suits"

Bottome Dweller Article

Wow. Obama supporters are scared little bottom feeders. Ever have anything like this to say about a man running for office. Let's talk about how stupid Mr. Obama is. How he answers questions by repeating them or changing them to one he knows the answer to. He is a clueless, sneaky dumb bell. Fooling anyone who will "believe" him in their trance like state into thinking he just said something of importance or gave them the answer. Go back to last Suday's inverview with George Stepanopoulos - it's the PERFECT example. He never answers a question - he doesn't have any answers.

His recent answer to the question on the government bailout of the Fanny/Freddie failure was this - his answer to the question what's his plan, what to do?

Mr. Dum Bell O'Believe Me Obama's answer to the economic state of America:

"I mean the economy is weak right now, the news with Freddie Mac and Fanny Mae, I think along with the unemployment numbers indicates that we're fragile".

Wow. I'm blown away by his intellect.

Right.

Mr. Obama wouldn't know a budget if it hit him in his smiley face. He needs a entourage of DC Boys Club White Haired Liberal Trolls to answer his questions FOR him. The know nothing.

This article about Palin is nasty and speaks more about the source of it than anything else. Whether one likes her or not - this is bottom dweller material.

I like here -- as Governor of Alaska!

This society is off the mat, all right. But not for the reasons Que Sara, Sara thinks. The #1 priority here is turning resources into trash as quickly as possible. Gluttony is the national deity, while people like the Alaska governor hope to make Christianity the state religion. I'm a Christian, but I honor the Constitution. Wish she would.

Hillary's Gone - The Media Can Now Be Seen For The Women Basher They Are

If anyone questioned the women hating media bias and bashing against Hillary and women - there's no question of it now.

It is REAL.

It's brings out their tabloid trash writers and they actually print them.

Obama was never the story. He's a dum bell who can't answer simple questions. He is no story.

Go JOHN McCAIN !!!

Poll shows big shift to McCain among white women

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate John McCain has gained huge support among white women since naming Sarah Palin as his running mate and now leads Democrat Barack Obama among those voters, according to a survey published on Tuesday.

The Washington Post/ABC News poll found that much of McCain's surge in the polls since the Republican National Convention is attributable to the shift in support among white women.

Before the Democratic National Convention in late August, Obama held an 8 percentage point lead among white women voters, 50 percent to 42 percent, but after the Republican convention in early September, McCain was ahead by 12 points among white women, 53 percent to 41 percent, the poll found.

You pig.

This is vile.

Disgusting.

Shame on you, Salon, for not removing this filth.

Repulsive, and thin

This is repulsive, and not nearly thoughtful enough to even qualify as 'opinion'. Thanks, Gary Kamiya (and whoever picked the illustration for this piece), for turning me off on Salon. This progressive feminist prefers to consider the issues and the contents of candidates' minds (in Palin's case, evidently not much) rather than reducing the candidates to some idiotic caricature. One which tells us far more about the writer than the subject of the analysis.

Tracy Clark-Flory, Rebecca Traister, where are you?

Ashamed to be a liberal

I'm a regular reader of Salon; but I'm reconsidering. We count on you for some semblance of balance in your reporting; but you have failed spectacularly here. Part of our self-identity as liberals is that we believe we have an obligation to act as if we really had taken the moral high-road, instead of just claiming it.

I see this is a bit of defining moment. Is Salon an outlet for legitimate and reasoned outrage; or is it a rabid hate-inspiring rag that aspires to be the Rush Limbaugh of web? This article seems to infer that the latter is the case.

In passing, there was an interesting article on CBC radio last evening. A biologist who studies the social structure of great apes was speculating that Palin's candidacy based on parallels between the social structure of great apes, and humans. He predicated that Palin would run into trouble because she was a female of breeding age, as opposed to, say, Margaret Thatcher, who was clearly past breeding age. (In chimpanzee societies, the amount of influence that females have is limitied, and only post-menopausal females get to exert political influence). Prediction fulfilled. How low can we go?
