I guess the Left is going to try to tackle the Palin problem with another set of fresh attacks.
Any time you pubs are ready to discuss the actual issues, just say so and we can move on to Palin's political positions.
I beg to differ. I think the evidence is pretty compelling that he is revealing a LOT about the American electorate.
While I agree Palin's appeal is to a HUGE extent her looks (and I had an evangelical tell me that, this is not some liberal bias) I find this photo objectionable. Sense of humor can be elsewhere, take this down for God's sake. If I could cancel my subscription right now I would. What the heck are you thinking over there?
The whole election will come down to the VP debate which will be watched by 100 million people, that is up near Superbowl Sunday kind of numbers. The Western world will literally stop moving for 90 minutes to see if SHE is real.
If SHE is real, McCain wins. It is that simple. McCain can flub his way across the finish line but if this woman is REAL, all bets are off. Not only is she a mother, but a mother of five and she wears glasses. I don't think she will forget to wear those glasses. It makes her appear brainy, more attractive, more conservative and also more defenseless.
I am sure that the Dem strategists think she is the most "dangerous woman in the world" right now. There is no obvious defense or offense against a woman of this type because she will attack you from a position of perceived weakness. The only person who can take her down and still remain standing is, of course, Hillary.

Really. Couldn't you come up with something, anything, that didn't reek of sexism? Why is it when a woman runs, any woman of any political persuasion, liberal boys can't process it in any fashion except by sexualizing and stereotyping them?
Having children, even ones with special needs, doesn't prevent a woman from working, from governing.
Being strong and good-looking doesn't turn a woman in the public arena into a sex object.

The sensitive commenters who are so terribly offended by this opinion piece and the picture are missing the boat. The Republican "base", i.e., those masochistic evangelicals, will LOVE the idea of a dominatrix. They insist on being lead around by their noses by their megachurch "pastors" and support the montebanks and ripoff artists with a great deal of their hard earned cash. So the notion of another "bring 'em on" whacko (with a whip and a bustier) in the White House should really appeal to them.

It was far more offensive than this piece, or the picture. Self-described Pit Bull Sarah deserves all the ridicule and counterattacks she invited - - and continue to invite. She is incapable of being offended; she is the prime offender and deserves all she gets. The Republicans are trying to promote the idea that the sweet little lady should be beyong "sexist" attacks, but at the same time engage on bigoted code words calling Obama "uppity". Can't have ot both ways.

The left is clearly panicking over Sarah Palin's nomination and its remarkable effect on the voting public. Already you're making your excuses for losing, mostly involving black-helicopter conspiracy theories and insulting characterizations of American voters. Meanwhile, at least some of you are indulging B-grade sexual fantasies about her.

Sexual power plays are much more popular than Gary supposes. Professional dominatrixes never lack for clients, and they're only servicing the ones who are willing to admit their submissive desires and pay someone to dominate them. I wouldn't hold out much hope that the American public will become less enamored of Palin if they begin to sense that she wants to discipline them.
Anyway, I wish Salon could stop printing articles about her sex appeal. How about sending some reporters to Alaska to uncover some proof of wrongdoing? The Republicans love to slander Democrats by saying that they are racist and sexist, even though those labels are far more applicable to their own party. When liberal leaning publications like Salon focus on the sexual aspects of Palin's candidacy they play right into the Republicans hands. We need to make it clear that we hate Palin because of her policies, and that her attractiveness is irrelevant. Besides, Palin can't hold a candle to Yulia Tomoshenko.
