The dominatrix

Sarah Palin is trying to seduce independent voters. But she comes across like a whip-wielding mistress who wants to discipline a naughty America.

Maybe she's a Britney Paris celebrity, not a dominatrix? Or just another symbol of Republican hypocrisy?

Here's a better story idea: remember the McCain ad that compared Obama to Britney Spears and Paris Hilton?

John McCain Ad Compares Barack Obama To Britney Spears, Paris Hilton: Ad's message is that Obama is 'frivolous and irresponsible' like the tabloid targets, campaign chief says. By Gil Kaufman, Jul 20 2008
In the new 30-second spot called "Celeb," which is scheduled to air in 11 states, the McCain campaign mocks Obama's image as a media star by flashing pictures of tabloid staples Spears and Hilton in the opening shots....

Is Palin a celebrity as well? Someone with no experience chosen for her popular appeal and fresh young looks and outsider image?

Is that the real theme? They could even use Britney's Pepsi lyrics.

Palin still won't answer any questions about her $500 million subsidy for the Pipeline to the Tar Sands, though - nor will she explain how producing tar sand oil in Alberta, Canada for export to China will increase U.S. energy security.

The press is not exactly rushing to cover the real story, are they? Plenty of talk about Sarah Palin and God, not much talk about Sarah Palin and British Petroleum...

Where in the bible does it say that God wants natural gas pipelines built in order to expand tar sand oil production? I think it does say that somewhere in British Petroleum's business plan, however...is there a joint statement?

Just a slight modification of the Bible is needed: "Render unto BP the things which are BP’s, and unto God the things that are God’s."

ABC loves the tar sands as well. They ran a public relations piece for the tar sands industry - and here it is. Pure propaganda:

"The Earth's supply of hydrocarbons is almost infinite."
