The dominatrix

Sarah Palin is trying to seduce independent voters. But she comes across like a whip-wielding mistress who wants to discipline a naughty America.

    Rich Ironies Abound

Obama was able to challenge Hillary Clinton and win partly because she was a woman and he was the one candidate who, being black, could change the conversation from gender to race.

Now the Obama/Biden ticket is falling behind in the polls because, well. Sarah Palin is a woman, and is able to change the conversation back to gender while appealing largely to the working and lower middle classes, a demographic toward which the Democrats have turned a tin ear.

Americans, above all vote for someone who reminds them of themselves. Palin and family are the archtypical American middle class family, and when the intellectuals of the left attack they are attacking someone who is seen as 'one of us.'

I'm not encouraged by the mocking tones coming from the Democratic left and bombastic windbags like Keith Olbermann and Bill Mayer who will do more to defeat Obama among average working Americans than anything Palin can do herself.
