The dominatrix

Sarah Palin is trying to seduce independent voters. But she comes across like a whip-wielding mistress who wants to discipline a naughty America.

    chorus of disapproval

Allow me to add my vote to the "what were you thinking?" column. Am I supposed to thank Salon for elevating the level of American political discourse? Many of us working to prevent Palin and McCain from being elected are involved because we are tired of the combination of inanity, surreality and fiction involved in politics. We want to figure out how to get a decent national health plan, but instead we feel like out-of-touch nerds when we dare to discuss details. How can we compete with a moose and a dominatrix? (Did I really just have to write that last sentence?) Many of Salon's articles seem to be descending into the realm of look-at-me pundit-hood. I can almost see the wisps of wasted dollars, brain cells, energy, ink and air time floating into the atmosphere.
