The GOP has made a habit of lying its way into office, then governing like a bunch of mercenaries on a bender.
They've been doing it for at least 40 years. Nixon lied his way into office with a "secret plan" to end the war in Vietnam. That was a plain lie.
Bush lied his way into office fearmongering all the while. The GOP doesn't know any other way to win elections. They can't win on the issues (give all the money to rich people)so they lie
This is how the GOP works. In Al Davis's immortal words "Just win baby!" That's the sum-total of their philosophy. If they have to put a few governors in jail on trumped-up charges, or fire Attorneys-General who won't follow orders; if they have to sell their daughters into slavery and their mothers for hamburger that's what they'll do.
They're a bunch of lying scum. That's what this latest tempest is all about. Obama worries them. So they're going to play as dirty as they have to. This has been the GOP way for two generations, and if Americans can't wake up to how they're being jobbed, they deserve what they get.
Note that lying GOP scum in Florida stole the 2000 election for Shrub...they couldn't quite win it, so they just cheated.
This appalling intellectual dishonesty and jingoism over Rev. Wright's sermons (the guy has a point or two to make, if you listen carefully to what he's saying), is nothing more than GOP politics as usual. The sad part is that corporate-owned MSM is now on the side of the liars.
It didn't used to be that way. The co-optation of the MSM has been the key ingredient to domination of the GOP narrative. I don't know what it will take to change that, but we better change it, or we're all going to be living under a dictatorship, sooner or later. A dictatorship aided, abetted and enabled by corporate-owned media.
