  • People should listen to the sermons before commenting

    It is amazing to me that even in such a reasonable article as this one it appears that Mr. Kamiya has not actually listened to either of the sermons at issue. It is amazing that so many commentators continue to allege that Pastor Wright was quoting, not altogether approvingly, the words of an ex-ambassador when he uttered "the chickens have come home to roost." I listened several times to the "offending" sermons and was quite surprised when I discovered that they are actall pretty mild. The basic message of th 9/11 speech is that people should get right with God, with their families and with their faith communities. Frankly, I don't agree with the overly pascifist character of much of his argument. But EVERONE who wants to comment on the sermons should hear or listen to them as a whole.
