Rev. Jeremiah Wright isn't the problem
The hysteria over Obama's former pastor's attacks on America shows we're still in thrall to knee-jerk patriotism.

    Nicely put and deeply felt, but dead wrong. Nothing I've heard from wright is different in kind from the old testament prophets who damned Israel time and again. Were Isaiah, Jeremiah (the other one) Ezekiel, et al anti semitic? Nope. They were damning a nation for turning away from the Lord. If you think America is a Christian country, my friend you're living in a fool's paradise. Walk through the "other parts" of any major American city with you eyes open and tell my how Christian we are. Is killing half a million Iraqis and making two million others into refugees a Christian act? How so? Judge not lest ye be judged, sir.
