I'm incredulous as this elegant but preposterous analysis.
as a huge fan of the elegance of Kamiya's thoughts patterns, writing and similes, I was wondering with increasing incredulousness if someone had lifted his brain out of his skull recently.
His elegant critique of Bush's wrong-headedness in his cack-handed pursuit of the 'war on terror' because of 9/11 ignores mounting evidence that
The pakistan ISI (a very close ally of the CIA) had a major hand in the the 9/11 attacks.
The general feeling among a lot of people with evidence too numerous to list that the 9/11 attacks were engineered in order to allow the neocons to occupy central Asia and the middle East
The anthrax attacks that silenced congress after 9/11 prior to the patriot act signing were of American origin, for me always the biggest post 9/11 story.
The fact that it's preposterous to say that a man in a cave inspiring people with box-cutters disabled US air defence for 1.5 hours that morning.
The massive evidence even shown on mainstream media outlets that Bin laden's convoy was allowed safe access out of Tora Bora.. a point that Kerry made again and again and again in his '04 election speeches, but he put it down to incompetence rather than the intentional malice that he privately knew it to be.
The nuclear bomb air force incident that has been enigmatically reported but not properly investigated.
The fact that the Cheney faction has been trying to engineer a new 9/11 or gulf of Tonkin in order to attack Iran (witness the totally cruddy incident in the straits of Hormuz a few months back)
The fact that Admiral Fallon was forced to fall on his sword being the last obstacle to an attack on Iran.
my point is simple. I think it's absurd to say that Bush took the 'wrong' course after 9/11 because of 9/11. The evidence for me points clearly to Bush's backers creating/using/allowing 9/11 in order to take this course, which then turned to ashes and has had incalculable terrible effects for the US and the world.
Democracies have metabolic needs (expansion, defense, resource acquisition, new markets, enemy intimidation) and they have proven quite often throughout history (particularly the US) now to have engineered false flag attacks on themselves in order to carry out actions from the point of view of victim rather than attacker. i.e to get a free pass [Well of course you can attack Afghanistan Uncle Sam, I mean after all it aggressed you first!]
The monstrousness of an Iraqi child being atomised by US high tech weaponry in the name of defeating Al-qaeda is rendered even more obscene when that is such a self-evident lie, Kamiya's quite possibly well-intentioned but ludicrous analysis of the genesis of the US's belligerence does a grave disservice to all of us, or to anyone who cares about the truth.
