Being black hurts him as much it helps him, just as posessing a Muslim heritage is a liability as much as it is a strength.
That is what makes the man and his candidacy remarkable. It is not just being black but being black and white, Muslim and Christian, a native and an outsider. In this way, he represents the future of America.
