@ Kaleun
Kucinich is not a WAR candidate so the media dismisses him.
Selling war to the American people is job number one for the media. Selling drugs is job number two.

LOL at using divide and conquer as "proof" you don't buy into Divide and Conquer
So you bait people by pulling the race card, in order to claim you reject it? You claim that Divide and Conquer is racist, yet your entire "Black Voters do this and Black Voters do that" stinks of dividing people into two groups: "Black Voters" and "Everyone Else". No Divide and Conquer there or anything... Or is it only OK when YOU do it, or people that can relate to YOU? That's real Classy... And it makes a lot of sense....
Black voters reject all of this nonsense..
Get over yourself. You claim to speak for all "Black Voters"? So it is "You" against "everyone else"? "Us" vs. "Them"? How is that not divide and conquer politicking? You claim you reject "divide and conquer" politics, but what do you call this garbage:
Black voters reject fools like Bob Johnson..
Black voters reject church meetings and simpled minded MLK celebrations
Black voters reject all pandering attempts..
Black voters press Obama to step up and campaign like man instead of impotent one drop robot..
Wow, you don't sound like a bigot or anything. Replace the word "black" with "woman" or "man" or "white" and tell me that it isn't exactly what you claim to reject.
All I see is bigotry disguised as a politically correct rant.

@ Trasher
I don't understand this sentence: other non-whites have piggy back and leveraged on the civil rights gains a movement we created in this country..
What do you mean?

Sick of it
Clinton and Obama are piling up their negatives on a daily basis. And I'm, frankly, sick of this shit. Hello? John Edwards?...Anybody ever hear of him? Well, I have and he's the only guy talking about fighting the Republicans, not other Democrats. Of course, I'll vote for whichever Dem wins, but by God, Edwards has the guts to "take it to 'em." Wake up Democrats. Vote for the guy the GOP fears the most....vote Edwards.
-
Uh..What?
"Obama to step up and campaign like man instead of impotent one drop robot.."
So this is from a guy who actually likes him? I'd hate to hear what someone who hates him has to say?

@rupert_c
I know what the MSM wants. But this is Salon. They aren't pro-war. They're supposed to be liberal. The fact that THEY ignore Dennis brings with it an immense feeling of betrayal. Remember the Ron Paul supporters chasing Sean Hannity? They feel the same way, but they actually did something about it. Now, needless to say, very few, and only very bad liberals would physically go after een Sean Hannity. But maybe we should leverage our reader's influence to get straight answers. This is not NBC or the Des Moines register. They can't keep stonewalling us if we are persistent and appear in large enough numbers (which we could).

What do you mean? (Anonymous)
It's pretty simple. It means that Thrasher is a bigot obsessed with race.
This:
Only white liberals used tired impotent civil rigts terms like "divide and conquer'
Black voters reject all of this nonsense..
Black voters reject fools like Bob Johnson..
Black voters reject church meetings and simpled minded MLK celebrations
Black voters reject all pandering attempts..
Black voters press Obama to step up and campaign like man instead of impotent one drop robot..
Could have just as easily been this:
Only white liberals used tired impotent civil rigts terms like "divide and conquer'
All voters reject all of this nonsense..
All voters reject fools like Bob Johnson..
All voters reject church meetings and simpled minded MLK celebrations
All voters reject all pandering attempts..
All voters press Obama to step up and campaign like man instead of impotent one drop robot..
But no. Thrasher is a bigot who thinks in terms of "us" vs. "them", where "them" = "bad", and so the only reasonable solution is that you should think that "them" = "bad" as well.

End this Ugliness, Support the White Man
Think about it. If John Edwards was the front runner now, race would not be an issue in the ugly way it is now being used. Sex would also not be an issue.
Oh yeah, and Edwards is also the most progressive in his policies and continually moves Hillary and Obama leftward after their focus groups tell them they like Edwards' policies.
Why not just elect Edwards?
His electability versus Republicans is very high.
And, he's against nuclear energy, understanding that it is not clean energy and a security risk.

Genie out of the bottle
There's plenty of blame to go around but ultimately with the campaigns now trapped in this narrative, the beneficiary will be Clinton. Which I'm certain they'd calculated. Obama's aura is dimmed, his momentum is blunted and his campaign now carries that tinge of defensive stance he'd been able to avoid until now (yes, perhaps undeservedly so).

@AKASmith, 1:28pm
Did I hit a nerve?
I was not trying to quote from Steinam's op-ed, just trying to summarize the gist of it.
But, if you'll read it again, she did start off by saying, in sum, that a woman (black or white) with Obama's resume would never have gotten so far. She did point out that black men got the right to vote before women (black or white) did. I don't think it's a stretch to say that she was setting up her essay to compare/contrast racism vs. sexism.
My point is: racism is a problem; misogyny is a problem; racism + misogyny is a problem squared. Why do we have to choose?
It has been a distraction (most of it coming from the MSM characters who love to see dems duking it out). But I hate to see anyone falling for this false dichotomy.
Cheers.

The race and gender war - What nonsense!
Rather than writing about the stupidity of these candidates, why are not the media demanding a discussion of the real issues: the war in Iraq, illegal immigration, the economy, etc.... I find the media has turned into a degenerative organ just like the majority of candidates, excluding Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul, who, by the way, are the only candidates worth reporting on, and who have honestly discussed the issues facing Americans today. Ron Paul is the only one who can discuss economics and finance, while the others have their heads in a hole using rhetoric to express their economic stupidity.
