Mean-spirited
"It feels mean-spirited and cynical to abandon all hope"
It feels that way because it is. Bush haters would rather see peace in Palestine fail, peace in Iraq fail, Iran develop nuclear weapons, etc.. than admit Bush has done anything right or successful. There's plenty of criticism to aim at this administration, but hoping for failure because you hate the man...is evil.
