Congress, the media and most of the American people have yet to turn decisively against Bush because to do so would be to turn against some part of themselves.

    just so stories

    If everything happens just so, the downfall of the House of Bush could be shocking in its swiftness.

    If "just so" implies "downfall, shocking etc", but the argument has no logical relationship to the conclusion, then "just so" also implies "no downfall, not shocking", or maybe more interestingly, "no downfall, shocking".
