Is this the Republicans real exit strategy?

Is it possible that the Republicans are intentionally positioning themselves so as to force the Democrats to take the war away from them?

Surely, behind closed doors, even the Republican brass know the war is lost. If this is so, then the only place to go is to damage control. At this point, the only question is how far do they go to pretend to be attempting to retain control before handing it over to the Democrats.

    Just a thought.
