Dan Froomkin hired by The Huffington Post

It is not journalism that is dying -- only the staid, establishment-serving, stenography model of the WashPost.

This ombudsman is not much better than Howell

He's acting as an attack dog FOR the neocon editor AGAINST the readers. Just as she did. And no, he didn't ask and get stonewalled. He "asked." "Say, you wouldn't like to give more details on Froomkin, right? Just checking. What's my line on this?"

Give me his job one day and I will show you what asking is. At a newspaper, at which I've worked much of my working life, it involves numbers - and names - and sources - and records - and data. And if you don't get it, the names and positions and alleged reasons and real reasons you don't get it become the story.

And if they fire you for reporting as ombudsman, good. Your career is assured, just not that job. And they help start the quicker downward spiral for themselves. Anyway, he seems like a more-genial liar and that's about it.
