America can't tell Israel what to do? Israel has been at war for around 60 years and yet its Jewish citizens live a nice affluent lifestyle. How is that possible? It's possible because America pays for it. America paid for the wall they've built. America pays for the settlements they build. America gave them nice shiny new weapons to go into Gaza and butcher babies and old women (terrorists every last one of them). If America removed them from the teat Israel wouldn't last eighteen months.

Israel has invested in war because they need those billions from America and if peace broke out they would have no more excuses to have that bloated military and overfunded intelligence network. The gravy train would no longer run to Israel. America, which funds Israel to the tune of billions, lets its own citizens live as homeless people because paying for health care sent them bankrupt. I saw a video showing all those people in one American state who turn up in a park once a year to get free dental and medical care paid for by a rich philanthropist. These Americans, living in the 21st century had open air medical attention and I saw a bucket full of teeth that had been pulled by the dentist. Is this how Israelis live? No, it isn't. Israelis have decent health care. I also heard a report from Jerusalem where orthodox Jews were protesting because the Mayor of Jerusalem refused to close a car park for the Sabbath. It is a violation of the Sabbath to drive or even to flick a switch (talk about living in the past) so when the female(Australian) journalist and her cameraman turned on their camera and tape recorder to do their report they were surrounded by orthodox Jews and she was spat on from head to foot. She said it was like rain falling. Now, I would like you to explain to me what is the difference between men who make women wear the veil and men who spit on women and make them wear hats? Both groups of Alpha males have beards and like to wear funny hats and treat women with contempt so I can't see that there is a difference. Oh, wait. The Israelis get billions from America and are never held accountable for anything they do. Iran is not a danger to the world and wants nuclear capability so it doesn't share the fate of Iraq and Afghanistan. Who would want to?

Just an afterthought. Canada has signed many oil deals with China over the last 5 years.

First of all a significant majority of Arabs in America are of Christian origin, driven from the Middle East by resurgent Islamic supremacism post-1945. Also I seem to recall Muslims trying to force their call to prayer on all non-Muslims in one of the Detroit suburbs, very neighbourly (and no as an agnostic I do not support annoying church bells or shofars either). Then wasn't there a recent incident where an Arab Christian group was restricted in access at some Arab-American event because of concerns over tensions with Muslims?

Oh and I saw a YouTube video from the other day of a gay man being harassed to the point of having objects thrown at him by Somali kids in Minnesota? Not Michigan, but obviously not a problem restricted by "region". I'm sure their violent homophobia is totally unrelated to their violently homophobic faith background.

Where Muslims are in my experience tensions with all other non-Muslim groups seem to follow. It is time some liberals like Glenn dealt with this harsh reality.

I don't believe I argued that the Uighers caught in Pakistan and Afghanistan, training in the mechanics of indiscriminate terror, shouldn't necessarily be released. In fact, I understand that many are now enjoying Albania, and for the luckier ones, Palau.

My point was that I simply don't see how rejecting terror activity, no matter what the supposed basis, is somehow proof of a generalized, acted-upon hatred of Muslims in America. That seems to be Greenwald's allegation.

But think it through: if Americans really were as "hostile" to all Muslims as much as Greenwald believes we are, those guys would've been on a plane to Beijing faster than you can trigger a bomb belt. His words are hyperbole guaranteed to get him clicks and blog attention, just like his earlier, equally-unsubstantiated claim that America is harboring "roving gangs terrorizing Muslims."

The fact that the Uighers' oppression by the Han Chinese hasn't gotten as much press as the (non-Christian) Tibetans, the (non-Christian) Falun Gong, the (non-Christian) Myanmar activists, the (non-Christian) black Muslims of the Sudan, the (non-Christian) Kosovans and the like is more a failure of the Uighers' PR machine than anything else. No mosques are burning in my neighborhood and won't ever be, despite Greenwald's allegations of "roving gangs" and "Americans'" (by this I imagine he is somehow erasing Muslim Americans) supposed hostility to all Muslims, all the time.
