Establishment view of Obama's civil liberties record

That Obama is replicating core Bush policies is acknowledged by everyone other than his most loyal supporters.

The letters thread is now closed.

Mine looks almost exactly like Obama's, except it's issued by Texas, and it is the only type of certificate that I can obtain.

Not interested in yours am I? So why avoid the specific?

2Oh boy, you made a mistake there. I'll do you one better. I'll show you the threads where you ignored them the first time."

Not interested in doing your research for you. You state you have something you fucking produce it.

Next, scroll down to the 6th letter on that page, from the same discussion, entitled "Establishing US citizenship, from the State Department."

Not interested in general law that's just a red herring.

Now, I'll make this very, very fucking simple for you. I want you to tell me at what exact address in Hawaii Obama was born and I want you to provide bone fide evidence to back that up including the doctors sig. Got it? I'll give you ten minutes. GO!

Negotiations

Where does anything there refer to negotiations? It doesn't does it? So why are you introducing a red herring? You got something against strengthening labour laws and environmental standards or Treasury reporting to congress or something?

It says he must put pressure on the World Bank. That means that he must come into any negotiation with a specific position, i.e. -- one of putting pressure on them to strenghten labor and environmental standards. As a matter of fact, I'm in favor of both of those things, but it's not up to congress to tell the president what to say to the world bank. "Advice and Consent" is the standard in the constitution for foreign treaties. Mandating pressure is not advice, it's a mandate, and as such is prima facie unconstitutional, as well as just a dumb idea.

Maybe it's different in Britain, but I don't know enough about your laws and precedents to say, and therefore I wouldn't try to lecture you from ignorance, as you do constantly.

As for the Treasury reporting part of the statute, I haven't yet examined it in detail, but at first glance it reflects quite badly on Obama to try to weasel out of it with a signing statement. I've already said as much. As for being an Obamabot, I'm anything but. I've posted several times about how he lost me with the "few bad apples" speech. At this point I'm hoping for a primary challenger in 2012, even if it is Hillary, and barring some sort of huge turnaround in policy, I fully expect to support the best primary challenger with my money, my vote, and my time.

In fact, I called Biden's office (Obama's was busy) the day he signed the FISA bill to inform them that they should expect me to support their primary challenger the next time.

So don't try to put me in your little small minded box, ignorant one who cannot read.

Correction

the day he voted for the FISA bill. On a side-note, I also called Lloyd Doggett's office, who ended up voting against the bill.

LondonLad dodges and lies

What a laugh! Do my research for me? I did the opposite, for you, twice now. The state department has specific rules on proving citizenship by birth. Obama's birth record meets every one of the requirements. Notice that it says exactly nowhere that you need a doctor's signature, or a hospital. Those are just BS requirements that LondonLad decided to make up for the black man, because he doesn't like him.

http://www.state.gov/documents/organization/86755.pdf

7 FAM 1119 PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP BY BIRTH IN THE UNITED STATES

a. To establish a claim to U.S. citizenship by birth in the United States:

A person born in the United States in a place where official records of birth were kept

at the time of his birth shall submit with the application for a passport a birth certificate

under the seal of the official custodian of records. [22 CFR 51.43.]

b. The birth certificate must:

(1) Show the applicant’s full name, and date and place of birth;

(2) Have a filing date within 1 year of the birth; and

(3) Bear the signature of the official custodian of birth records and the raised, impressed, or multicolored seal of the issuing office.

See Obama's birth certificate, here: (http://www.factcheck.org/UploadedFiles/birth_certificate_3.jpg)

Full Name: Barack Hussein Obama II

Date of Birth: August 4, 1961

Place of Birth: Honolulu

Filing Date: August 8, 1961

Registrar's signature (on back): Alvin T. Onaka

Raised Seal: Check!

Now, LondonLad, why don't you show us where it says, anywhere in US law, that Obama has to go through your extra hoops? Or are you allergic to facts and evidence, and prefer to just spew bullshit?

As expected a total barrage of waffle instead of a straight answer. Read this again:

Now, I'll make this very, very fucking simple for you. I want you to tell me at what EXACT ADDRESS IN HAWAII OBAMA WAS BORN AND I WANT YOU TO PROVIDE BONE FIDE EVIDENCE TO BACK THAT UP INCLUDING THE DOCTOR'S SIG Got it? I'll give you ten minutes. GO!

I've put it in caps to make it clearer. By the way sonny one of my close relations was a very big and angry copper. If he had you in his claws he'd have been using the rubber hose to the kidneys on you by now. You'd have either coughed up the answer or be pissing blood for weeks.

Sure, I'll do that

As soon as you show it's in any way relevant to the discussion. I've proven beyond any doubt that it is not relevant, and you're just bringing up a red herring. To borrow a phrase from you, it isn't up to me to do your research for you. The fact that you continue to ignore the actual law and instead talk about beating me with a rubber hose shows that you have exactly zero intellectual integrity, and as I said, you've been shown the law, twice now, and continue to ignore it. Case closed, but if you want to continue this O/T BS, then do it here: http://letters.salon.com/politics/war_room/2009/06/29/boone_birther/view/index14.html
