Just read NPR piece. Holy shit!

Was anyone aware of or troubled by the fact that NPR reporters follow Diktat?

Sorry to be so uninformed and divert from your fundraiser, but my head is exploding (again)!

Glenn - The Paypal link isn't working

It just keeps tossing the cursor up to the Search Salon widget at the top of the page.

funding help

You've more than earned it. Just discovered your work last year and got to hear and speak with you during your visit to Ithaca recently, and could not be more impressed. Don't have too much, but will donate as soon as I get home today. Thanks for all of your hard work!

Paypal link worked fine for me

I'm using Firefox, if that makes a difference.

Now's the time to show....

....how valuable you find Glenn's work.

I can think of no better use of my meager discretionary funds. I will donate as much as I can afford.

Thank you again for all the fantastic work you do to fight for the freedoms and liberties that are being taken from us on all fronts, and at an ever-increasing pace. Your work will stand the test of time, and it is all of us readers' collective responsibility to ensure as many people see, hear, and read your work as possible.

I would do it

I've had to cut all contributional spending though.

Funding the Chair

Glenn is schooling journalists every day in how to do their jobs, to all of our benefit. Let's fund this chair so that Glenn is not constrained by unreasonable financial limits.

small amounts add up

Sent email.

paypal link

I had trouble a little earlier. Now it is working fine.

Tuesday, June 23, 2009 11:13 AM

Glenn, The link does not work under IExplorer.

Will try again later. Keep up the good work (with a little help from your friends).

PayPal (and Glenn Greenwald) work just fine.

Double chai for you, Glenn!

Thanks.

Before I donate again...

I am just curious and you obviously don't need to respond if you don't want to but what, in broad strokes, is your arrangement with Salon? Are you an independent contractor? Do they pay you a salary? I thought that was the point of your move to Salon - financial backing. No? Salon can't pony up the money for their best columnist? Or they won't without editorial control?

I still can't figure out why you signed on with them in the first place. I thought it was about the money in that you would have a consistent, stable income and financial backing to expand into these other areas. You have certainly proven your worth to them I would imagine - why aren't they funding the expansion?

Link Didn't Work For Me Either

It just took me to the top of the same page. I'm using IE 7.

snark below

What, no t-shirts??

p.s. People, the man is asking for our help to save our democracy and we're asking him to solve our paypal problems.

Let's show some independence.

Adnoto

I am just curious and you obviously don't need to respond if you don't want to but what, in broad strokes, is your arrangement with Salon?

My relationship with them is unchanged from the time I moved. I'm not an employee. They pay each month for the blog (and, as I wrote when I originally moved, that was only part of the motive - I expected the move to raise the visibility and impact of the blog and I think that's clearly happened). Like many businesses generally and virtually all magazine/newspapers generally, the economic climate for them is difficult and they wish they could do more and think they should do more than they're able. Things like having someone help you with research regularly and the other projects I described are expensive and rather than waiting longer for Salon to be able to do those things, I decided to ask readers instead. Nobody likes to do that, but it's obviously completely voluntary and I hope that people do it only who are able.

Link worked fine for me through Firefox.

My pleasure to support the most influential blogger in America on issues I care the most about.

Fool

I'm using IE 7.

-- The Fool

I always wondered how/why an intelligent person deserved the moniker "the fool." Now I know. Tell me it's just cause you are at work and the company IT thugs won't allow you administrative access so as to load programs. That would make sense. The man got you down.

:)

The Fool

Link Didn't Work For Me Either

Not sure why - seems to be happening for a few people but only a few. I added the paypal address to the post. Thanks.

Whenever you want to pass the hat, I'm in

Glenn, I have kept my compliments to a minimum lately to avoid 1)looking like a brown-noser, 2)running the risk of inflating your ego, and 3)diluting the message through monotonous repetition. But this once, I think I can take a chance and praise again your uniquely entertaining and always inspiring combination of intellect, humor and moral passion.

Your example serves as a true inspiration to students of law, journalism and the other intellectual professions looking to do good works outside the corporate and political mainstream.

It is uplifting to not a few old practioners and reprobates of those professions, as well, not to mention private citizens of all kinds who respect the rare purity of your commitment to core human (not just American) ideals, and who share with you the belief that public service should be marked by idealism and consistency in word and deed.

I only wish I could rake back some of the money I donated last year to our Detainer-in-Chief to chip in more.

For the record, Paypal worked fine for me via IE (my comp remembers my paypal account, maybe that helped).

Tuesday, June 23, 2009 11:45 AM

What, need a new pair of pajamas?

Oh, you bloggers.

Thank you for everything you do; I'll be honored to get PayPal to work and chip in.

A Contribution

Glenn: I applaud your work; and I want to make a contribution. As a result of a stolen cc I had 8 months of hell. If you can post a postal address I will have a bank draft in the mail, express post, tomorrow. Not much, but I want to help.

Tuesday, June 23, 2009 11:53 AM

Yeah, ok. That makes sense I suppose. I don't know though, I am sure you feel a certain sense of loyalty to them but you may be outgrowing them too.

Whatever, a few days worth of tobacco money coming your way.
