This might sound weird, but I would like to quote Joseph Goebbels: “What you want in a media system” and he meant the Nazi media system “is ostensible diversity that conceals an actual uniformity.” http://mrxfromplanetx.com/orwell-rolls-in-his-grave
So Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich and Karl Rove, and all these other jack asses attack her for stupid reasons. Then liberals think she must actually be a good person. These same jackasses did this with Obama. They picked out really stupid stuff to complain about, when all along he voted for the Reauth of the Patriot Act, FISA, and he had lobbyists working on his campaign when he claimed he didn't.
So now we have a President who does great things like hire Eric Holder as his Attorney General when this guy had defended Chiquita Brands for hiring right wing fascists to kill people in Columbia. According to John Perkins the Bush Family owns a stake in Chiquita.

I think people are being played here.
If people ever get a chance be sure to watch Century of Self. You can find it on Google Video of course, but I put all four episodes here as well http://mrxfromplanetx.com/orwell-rolls-in-his-grave This is the science of 20th century public relations. This documentary will blow you away. People have no idea how cunning these people are.
I agree there is the chance the jackasses just find stupid crap because "she/he is just like us" would be an odd insult.
Yeah, rich, Ivy League, Catholic, sheltered, nose stuck in legal books for decades on end -- government wellpaid, job security, respected boss -- what a cultural diversity-- she has everything in common with virtually nobody in the real world. But everything in common with everyone else on the court. THERE IS NO DIVERSITY HERE. Don't let the bigot, Ivy League, rich, Catholic, sheltered commentators fool you.
poke one and you stir the nest.
your bff and race guru just logged on to his omooe, er, Myrna Minkoff account and decided to post about this on Glenn's newest thread. Shouldn't you scuttle over there asap so you can lol at Myrna's hilarity, thus raising the level of discourse around here that you and omo, er, Myrna, care oh-so-much about? Valuable, at least when omooex isn't making valuable contributions making troll posts with his silly characters like Garm's Balls and Myrna Minkoff.
LWM was much better at it then oinkex though, and a lot more clever than oinkex, espcecially considering how intellectually bankrupt LWM's ideas are. At least his ideas and arguments were somewhat coherent and based on something, and not crackpot armchair racial conspiracy theories based on subjective gobbledygook, i.e. the arguments of word-weaseling Mr. "I see the world color through color vision yet also believe race is a fiction" omooex and his inconsistent and wishy-washy Moral Relativism.
Then your problem is with the law, not Sotomayor [or the other judges who unanimously ruled likewise]. What's so difficult to understand about that?
I have my own opinion, thanks, and yes, I did read (not the entirety of the case) the arguments.
It is not difficult to understand Ricci's claim. Absent showing that the exam was designed to exclude or impair some candidates, other than by the fact of lesser ability to perform, I would always prefer to let an employer, particularly a public safety employer, choose to hire and promote by their own standards.
As you can see, I don't respect the theory of disparate impact as it is applied here, because I prefer equality. One man (or woman), one chance, no more no less.
Rich
So you admit it? Best that way I guess.
Take the red pill.
Do you ever tire of defending racism and bigotry? Seems that sooner or later you would be totally unable to look in a mirror. (if you were a human that is)
This is a serious question. This is like the 30th time you have defended voting for people based on race; or defending those who do. Do you really enjoy race based politics? You realize there is not excuse for racism just like there is never an excuse for torture?
Hmmmmm. If I recall correctly you even defended Mona's wanting to torture people if her darling grandkids lives were in the "ticking time bomb scenario'.
You have all appearances of being morally bankrupt.
I get it, it's sort of a Kaufmanesque self-parody shtick. It's the multiple sequential posts - "...and another thing!" - that clued me.
So meta! I bow before the master.
You just can't ever figure it out can you?
The "bag of hammers" servers three different purposes. The first is the one you mentioned. The other two: you figure out.
He'll tell you not to assume things about the lives of others in defense of his spooning partner's assumptions about the lives of others. He'll criticize your bland retorts with bland retorts of his own. And he'll do it all without a hint of irony. And here I thought I was the one mocking myself.
According to omooex, race is a fiction too. Except when he is arguing that it isn't.
omooex is such a fraud he doesn't even know what he really believes about the subject he pretends to know so much about.
oh snap?
You really are quite good at contradicting yourself, that's twice in two posts to me. Keep projecting, you're on a roll.
...really need to work on the whole "snappy comeback" thing. Just humorlessly bringing up arguments from weeks or months ago makes you look obsessive, and, frankly... a little desperate.
Sinnard, I'll give you that "balls in the mouth" was at least colorful, though it lacked a certain élan.
C'mon, kids! it may be a dead thread, but bring your A game!
P.S. heru... it's "dumb as a bag of hammers." Just calling someone a bag of hammers isn't a proper insult. It's like calling them a teacup, or a postage stamp. People just shake their heads.
