Yes, yes, Calamine, I know

Everyone's an anti-semite, and those who claim they are not anti-semites (and demonstrate that claim) are the worst anti-semites of all. The only people among us 6 billion who are not anti-semites, according to you, are those who support the Likud party in Israel in every single thing they do. In other words, the world is populated by an estimated 5,999,500,000 anti-semites. I get it. You're merely explaining your point of view that I already understood. Keep in mind, your point of view is flat-out crazy, as someone points out to you each day. Thanks for sharing. It's very important to get these ideas out in the open, so they can be properly rejected as they invariably are.

And paul (I read your post over)

It's beyond me that I could ever think you viewed Jews as victims? You view us as "perps". This whole thing is about Israel. But, oh yes, you think "Zionists" has nothing to do with "Jews". Or at least you pretend so. In the same way you pretend your father's attitudes never affected yours. Yes, and Mel Gibson's never affected his.

paul, you have to pay closer attention to C.O.

that's NOT what he's saying. Read it over. It's what makes C.O. far more effective than you. Your Liking of Jews is Threatening. It of course, doesn't make you antisemitic (you got that from your father and is subconscious, all your feelings are subconscious. You won't even allow yourself to consciously "see" race.) C.O. says just what I paraphrased, that I hate you because you DON'T hate me, and this (he had to come up with some theory, and this is it) "upsets" me because it is in conflict with my "world-view". Diabolic! (that's why I believe he must be British).

Steele The First

First of all, if you are calling me an antisemite, you better define your term. Then I wil tell you if I am, otherwise, fuck you.

I don't need you to tell me you're an anti-semite, thanks anyway. You've got a bunch of letters that state that pretty explicitly. Here's your definition:

Antisemitism (also spelled anti-semitism or anti-Semitism; also known as Judeophobia) is prejudice against or hostility towards Jews.

Oh, and fuck you too.

Your grandpa was probably raised in Europe, or in an urban setting.

I said it was my dad, actually. And no, he wasn't raised in Europe but Arizona. And not in an urban setting, but on an Indian reservation. That's 0 for 3.

In any case, he has obviously seen more of the world and life than you have, and it is insulting to him, and disgraceful of you, to call him an antisemite.

My dad has been out of the country once to fight the Japanese (he thankfully wasn't sent to fight the Germans, as that would have presented him with a conflict of interest, as he has told us). Meanwhile, I'm on my 4th passport. And as for the disgrace for calling him an anti-semite? He admits it.

This hasn't been your most insightful post, Steele. Or, then again, maybe it has.

And just like there is nothing wrong or hateful when someone says "I just don't like that person," there is nothing wrong or hateful when someone says "I just don't like that culture."

I agree with your first statement, and completely disagree with the second. An entire culture is a very complicated thing, and one can never truly know all of it. To write off an entire culture as something you don't like is to make a bigoted sterotype. I have been guilty of this myself (not towards the jews) and have seen around it eventually.

This is just the mindset of spoiled, rich, suburban brats who grew up in peaceful and homogeneous communites taking over academia and teaching our kids otherwise.

That is about as far from me as you can get. I wonder who you were really talking about?

Anyhow, Steele, I see I've engaged your never-too-far-from-the-surface fury, and now you're busy sticking out your tongue and beating your chest, all pretty impotently as I've shown. That wasn't the reaction required. The reaction would simply be to count to 10, think about what I said, and then realize that there's another way forward besides being an anti-semite. Good luck with that.

C.O. Jones

Yes, that is truly fascinating what you point out, and honestly not what I expected at all. And it underscores a point that Steele made (in the fashion of the broken clock). Steele pointed out that some jews (Steele of course suggested "all jews") need to be victims. By now, refusing to regard jews as victims, I was branding myself an antisemite, as far as Calamine understands the term.

Thats's a new one, C O Jones

And new ones are effective - for the moment. And yes, I admit, it DID twist my mind getting around it - you must be British. Let me see if I get it. Someone whom I just can't stand - for his sanctimonious self-regard and his hidden antisemitism, is detested by me NOT because of that, but because he's NOT antisemitic and so threatens my world view that everyone hates Jews. However Steele, who is blatant, I like because he doesn't threaten my world view. Is that it?
I only like people who hate me because that proves everyone hates me!
Wasn't there a schoolyard song about that? On worm eating?

Tuesday, March 24, 2009 05:05 AM

You see, paulpsd7

I don't have to get used to it, it's obvious, paulpsd7 your sanctimonious contempt just masks your own nazinature. I am angry at steele at the moment, but at his worst and at his most mistaken he is as far above you as angels over demons. he is human, you are a monster. and no, I don't believe you find race invisible. I think you are a klan bigot just like your father.
-- calamine

By refusing to hate Jews you are threatening calamine's entire raison d'ĂȘtre. Everyone is supposed to hate Jews because their continued and constant victimhood is what gives his life meaning. It is all summed up in the slogan that he just used: "C'est la vie - pour les juifs, c'est a dire."

Calamine is able to interact with Steele because he expresses his hatred of Jews, thus reinforcing calamine's worldview. You, on the other hand, by refusing to hate Jews, are attacking it and are thus a "monster". Calamine is unable to believe that you don't hate Jews, because hating Jews is the way of the world. "C'est la vie."
