How are you a destroyed people? You are the most successful demographic in my country. Most of the wealth and power is in your hands. You have over 50% of Vanity Fair's Power Elite. For 2.1% of the population, I would say you guys are fucking superstars. So, how are you a destroyed people?

Your letter breaks my heart. Seriously. You seem to be a fan of introspection. Why do you carry this weight with you? How can you see yourself and your people as being oppressed and destroyed? It boggles my mind. It goes beyond boggling my mind - it actually comes across as insulting to all the people in the world who actually are oppressed and destroyed. Like blacks. Romanys. Native Americans. The list goes on and on. I think Jews are number 3,000 on that list.

I think you should medititate on these feelings of oppression and being hated, and ask where they come from, and if they are valid, and if they are helping or hurting your life.

I just Googled "blood libel" and "rootless cosmopolitan." You seem to be hitting all the correct talking points. It almost reads like a text-book case of paranoia: you have a pre-concieved universe within which to place any and all criticism of Israel or Jewry so that it fits a pattern of oppression. I think this is the case of the Jewish mindest at-large. I think the entire culture has a pathological case of paranoia.

Recently, our own dear Glennn repeated the age old charge that many American Jews have a duel loyalty. This is the kind of blood libel which has resulted in countless pogroms, Stalinist show trials with the usual executions, and a holocaust in which 6,000,000 Jews were murdered.

If my neighbor keeps chopping down my rosebush, and I go next door and slaughter his family, then does that mean that no one can ever again accuse their neighbor of chopping down their rosebush? That is what you are implying. Dual-loyalty exists, it has existed, and it always will exist. It is part of human nature. Somewhere, sometime, someone is going to chop down their neighbor’s rosebush. Just because that was used as a “justification” for murder does not mean it does not exist.

And that number - 6,000,000 - is that referring to WWI, or WWII?

I think Glennn should also take my homework assignment and join Netflix and see "The Boy In the Striped Pajamas." That boy in the 'pajamas' could have been Glennn's very own left wing uncle. Hitler didn't care whether or not Jews were left or right. Neither did Stalin.

And nor do the Jews in Israel care about the girl in the striped pajamas, living a few miles away, who is being bombed with cluster bombs and shelled with white phosphorous. Your history of persecution does not impress me. It doesn’t make you special, it doesn’t remove you from moral responsibility.

And don't worry about Glenn missing this great Holocaust film. I am sure there will be plenty more made next year. And the year after that. And the year after that. It is Hollywood's duty to remind all of us how much Jews are hated, how much Jews have suffered, and to feel sorry for all the Jews in the world. We get it.

I think Calamine is on to something when he says that Glennn's brand of subtle anti semitism is far worse than Steal the Hearse's more obvious brand of Jew hatred, because Steal is simply an ignoramus, and Glennn is a well educated cosmopolitan, metrosexual guy, who, unlike Steal the Hearse, grew up in Florida with many Jewish friends and acquaintances.

He can't possibly agree with Steal the Hearse that we Jews are just obsessed with money more than any other people when I am sure he knows about Jonas Salk and Albert Einstein and a host of Jewish humanitarians and philanthropists.

So we differ. Maybe Glenn Greenwald simply has a very thick skin that no insult can get through. Or perhaps he sees Judaism as an unimportant vestige of old barbarism. Who knows? He certainly allows meanness to Jews on his blog. As you see from the last page, I got tired of it. It is really pointless. For a minute, after an hour, they see us as people, then they get back to their gleeful hatred. We are a magnet for such pathology. They can't help it, it's like a piranha and blood or a wolf with a limp, whatever bestial tropism you can come up with. Israelis just don't give a damn - not the best attitude either, however understandable. Their culture was formed by reaction to the shtetl. You can't talk to them about emotions, they get rude and insulting. They have a very "unexamined life" attitude. We still live, but really, bestial christianity won - we are a destroyed people. Perhaps my children will come up with the answer, I haven't. I used to think, since these are intelligent people, that understanding would bring, "understanding" but now I don't think my words do anything but provide a focus of hate. Amy Goodman is very like Glenn Greenwald. Jewish, but childless allies of enemies. I think they are an example of the pathology brought about by a holocaust in an uncaring world.
