@Nick44 and Antisemitism

I think the entire world is sick and tired of pro-Israel apologists abusing the charge of anti-semitism to silence critics of Israel's war crimes and crimes against humanity.

The issue here is the genocide (Yes, this is the right term when life-saving UN-supplied food and medicine intended for hundreds of thousands of refugees are destroyed using white phosphorus shells) taking place in the concentration camp of Gaza.

aVulcan

I specifically said that "some" people here were being antisemitic, not all, and I attempted to silence no one. You protest too much.

Nick & Robby...Thanks For a Tiny Glimmer of Light

in this squalid bunch of butcher hugging leftoids. WAR, you knitwits, is ALL about using as much--GASP--"disproportionality" as is necessary. May it continue to land on the heads of Hamas and its enablers and protectors as possible. White Phosphorus...? Jeepers, Patton said that it and the M-1 were the 2-best weapons of the Second World War. May more of it find more Hamas Death Cultists.

Civilians DIE in War?? Especially when Islamist Cowards place them in the way?? Say it ain't soooooooo!

Now, to **VIGFM.

@Neoconcabal

I am a leftist, and I consider the use of white phosphorous to be a horrendous war crime.

and the winner is????

Inflicting pain is rooted in what really the Israeli army is trying to achieve. Israeli army is very well know by not engaging in street fights and is looking since the 1967 war for another victory to shine its fading image as the ultimate power in the Middle East.

In 2006, yes Israel inflicted pain against Lebanese all Lebanese even those who do not support or harbor Hezbollah. Inflicting pain causes hate and hate extends the conflict. Nevertheless, inflicting such pain in Gaza is justified by the desperate need of the Israeli military and political arms for a victory that is clearly beyond their reach now.

On the other hand, Hamas and Hezbollah learned their lesson that Israel will not engage in street fight. This why they enchant from inside their streets bring it on and they set their survival as the criteria for their symbolic victories.

Inflicting pain did not even achieve any political gains. Israel now narrowed her demands to pressuring Egypt, Not Hamas, to control the arm smuggling through the tunnels. Why? because they knew that their inflicting such pain did not achieve them anything.

Inflicting pain even reversed roles on the world scale. Israel who was the victim is now the barbarian aggressor because the pain and the cause of it are not proportionate, and Hamas who was the terrorist organization is now the victim.

When the world will realize that neither one of them want peace. if they sign peace treaty the external financial and arms support will stop. Both states became mercenary states achieving the dirty jobs of their bosses so-called allies in exchange of support.

@ Nick44

I'm a leftist too, but if you even attempt to defend Israel in here, you'll be called a Neo-Con fascist John Bolton warmonger torture lover.

And yes, there is anti-Semitism rampant in these threads, followed very closely by persecution complexes that the powerful Jewish-run media will attempt to "silence" them for daring to "speak truth" to the Tribalist Zionist Nazis in Israel.

Left unmentioned: Things like the Second Intifada which led to the lockdown on Gaza and the West Bank, the complicity of Egypt, the corruption of the PLO, the terrorism of Hamas (in both Israel and Palestine) and the war-crime of hiding militants in civilian areas to attempt to draw fire to engender global sympathy for your cause.

Glenn Greenwald's entire philosophy is about emboldening a greater diversity of voices in mainstream media. And anyone who disagrees with him in these threads will be shouted down by his minions to accomplish that goal. Oh, irony.

Salon

I've been reading Salon for years, just never had anything to say because, basically, I've pretty much agreed with the party line of the lefties. That's why I read it, duh. But on this issue, I think the left is wrong, blind, close-minded, hateful, uninformed and inarticulate. To my ears you just sound so silly.

talking point talking point

Nick & Win: I AM a Neocon Boltonesque-Feithist Warmonger..

and am stunned--pleasantly--to see you two and 'momj below making some sense. My guarded praise will risk hail & tarnation on your pesky lefty heads in this fetid little swamp.

Oh, and Nick: The use of white phosphorus is a--Gasp--War Crime?? I will always love what the great Paul Fussell said in his essay of the same neme.."Thank God for the Atom Bomb."

"A grave mistake", Israeli admits in targeting the UN building. The pictures show the UN flag

still aloft on the burning building. The lies are coming thick and fast, although "grave" is a very appropriate adjective. Only the Zionist stooges here and elsewhere repeat the lies of "Hamas gunmen inside the building" and "human shields". Hamas has done what was very difficult to do before the attempted ethnic cleansing of Gaza; it has made Gaza the graveyard of any belief or hope of non-aligned people that Israel would behave with decency to the people of Gaza. Now we see the Zionists for what the really are: liars, paranoids and killers who are hiding behind Uncle Sam's lead apron which protects them from radiation but nobody else.

Tons of food and medicine went up in flames in a direct hit on the UN building. A building which the Israeli army knew accommodated local journalists was also hit. Defence Minister Barak has admitted the "grave mistake" but little Markie Regev is on auto-pilot still squawking away about Hamas,Hamas, Hamas. The Romans decided "Carthago delenda est" (Carthage must be destroyed) and that is the Zionists mission in Gaza but, even though the result of the 20+ day battle are inevitable, Israel will have worst the war to sustain the sham that it is a civilised "democracy". It's pulled every trick in the book of fascism -censoring as much news as it can in the age of the Internet, having its "tools" of American Zionism smearing anyone who has the temerity to question the savagery of the onslaught of the Gaza Ghetto, immuring the Palestinians behind a wall, relying on military superiority (propped up shamelessly by Uncle Sam) to smash a civilian population to pieces. It's as sickening a spectacle as anyone could expect to see again unless the world regresses to the law of the jungle.
