Israel has pissed me off even more than Bush invading Iraq and that is saying something!

    That's just not possible.

  • @ Chris Sinnard

But just wait, starting in a few months Shooter will be in here whining about how the other team is misusing and abusing his precious force.

That would be "precious bodily fluids", I think.... ;-)

    POE.

    Cheers,

So, I'm with you. Jebbie is full of used cat litter in this instance.

If that's true, it's certainly not the first time and it won't be the last.

However, I still have the sole key to The Wog and I will get my revenge on you and all of your sockpuppets sooner or later. You should immediately begin trembling with fear for I shall now consider utilizing more Boney M videos.

I am being hypocritical and will try to live up to my own beliefs better in the future.

Dude, trying to hold yourself to Miss Manners standards on an online forum is kind of like a celibate going to a whorehouse for the beer. Sure, you might be able to resist temptation, but for how long?

I'm not a fan of using online anonymity as a shield from behind which you just spew angry rant after angry rant. But sometimes, in my opinion, an idea is just so odious that responding to it politely is tantamount to condoning it.

However, as we used to say back in the antediluvian era, your mileage may vary.

although I won't mention any names.

    I've tried this myself.

Which explains why I'm no longer a Jesuit.

Maybe I was rash, but think about it. A significant portion of Iraqis wanted us to invade and throw out Saddam. Our aerial attacks were far less careless in “collateral damage.” We didn’t have a confined, starving population where we used woman and children and the Red Cross for shooting practice. True the end result was far more devasting in Iraq and the Middle East. For true senseless savagery, the Israelis top the Busheviks. Maybe I hate them equally and my congress for supporting them.

    Clearly, and succinctly.

    Prosecutions for all those involved.

Direct hit! That's Glenn! He's just in it for the money. I understand he even has a bumper sticker that says, "Whoever dies with the most toys wins". Who knew?

I knew I was stepping in it when I wrote that about the cat litter. Some people never learn.

Today, what has been a humanitarian crisis for some time has turned into a nightmare for the most vulnerable people in Gaza.

Between the sounds of gunfire and rockets, raw sewage flows through the streets, access to clean water vanishes, and panicked, frightened children are going hungry.

Oxfam and its local partners are providing direct relief in Gaza, and we need your help. Please click here to support our efforts and make a donation to our Middle East Crisis Fund. https://secure.oxfamamerica.org/site/Donation2?idb=194178769&df_id=2000&2000.donation=form1 (see sig)

Right now, there is an immediate need for food, blankets, plastic sheeting to cover windows, and medical supplies. In the long term, Oxfam will need money to rehabilitate sewage systems and infrastructure and rebuild livelihoods.

Even a modest donation can help. $35 can purchase 10 packs of bottled water for displaced families. $60 could provide blankets for a family in a shelter. $84 can purchase a basket of food that can feed a family of five for a week. Or $300 can purchase an emergency medical pack, to provide the medical care so sorely lacking in this crisis.

Over the years, my friends, family, and I have struggled to make sense of the political situation in Israel and Gaza. But no matter how we feel about who is right or wrong, our hearts ache for the innocent people caught in the crossfire.

Can we count on you to support our efforts? Please donate today to Oxfam's Middle East Crisis Fund.

Thank you in advance for your generosity.

Sincerely, Raymond C. Offenheiser, President, Oxfam America

  • Actually if they are there

So will all the Zionists who called most of us here "anti-Semites" for noticing the power of "The Lobby" now come back and apologize?

If they are lurking, and any one of them has any clout, or access, or anyone they can contact, now is the time. The situation there is going from bad to worse, the UN is pulling out, the ICRC is suspending personnel movements. There are no foreign journalists there. There is very little water, fuel or food, and a shortage of medical supplies. Troops in such situations, without the bright clear lines of humanitarian law, don't act in ways that countries are proud of. Please do something if you can.

The Congress should be demanding U.S. diplomatic intervention, immediately.

Can you refute my claim that to show people respect is better than not? In the broadest sense, do you want peace in the world? I do, so why not let it begin with me, in every interaction I have with everyone? Where is the exception where it is OK to resort to childish taunts? I can't find this exception.

I wrote on an earlier day that I was feeling "hurt" by the wrathful words thrown at me, and while this has been a source of amusement for some (myself included...) I was simply being honest. I don't believe that anyone can have hard words thrown at them and feel nothing. If you think you are tough, I think you are just absorbing the stress. I prefer to say something about it rather than pretend it does not exist and then take it out on someone else later.

Miss Manners, indeed! Sounds like you jumped on my words without considering what I was saying, an all-too-familiar occurrence in online discourse, no?
