    Paul Ash

Can you refute my claim that to show people respect is better than not? In the broadest sense, do you want peace in the world? I do, so why not let it begin with me, in every interaction I have with everyone? Where is the exception where it is OK to resort to childish taunts? I can't find this exception.

I wrote on an earlier day that I was feeling "hurt" by the wrathful words thrown at me, and while this has been a source of amusement for some (myself included...) I was simply being honest. I don't believe that anyone can have hard words thrown at them and feel nothing. If you think you are tough, I think you are just absorbing the stress. I prefer to say something about it rather than pretend it does not exist and then take it out on someone else later.

Miss Manners, indeed! Sounds like you jumped on my words without considering what I was saying, an all-too-familiar occurrence in online discourse, no?
