Both parties cheerlead still more loudly for Israel's war

As the body count in Gaza piles up, the U.S. Congress acts overwhelmingly to insinuate itself into the war with blind support for Israel.

The letters thread is now closed.

Zoltan

You show more of yourself every time you post.

I AGREE

There's a vast difference between being Israel's friend and giving Israel a blank check to do what they please. We do not have a friendship with Israel. We have a co-dependent relationship. (I'll be fair. Palestinians also have a co-dependent relationship with much of the Muslim world.) I do not see any winners in this latest conflict. Everyone loses.

We need to encourage Obama to adopt a more even-handed, more balanced approach to the Middle East.

In summation

Judaism is off-limits. Israel is off-limits. Jews can do no wrong. Israel can do no wrong.

It is forbidden to come to (your own) moral judgments on the tenets of Judaism.

It is forbidden to come to (your own) moral judgments on actions based in Judaism.

It is forbidden to come to (your own) moral judgments on state policies based in Judaism.

If you disagree with any aspect or belief of Judaism, you are an anti-Semite, and equivalent to a Nazi.

If you disagree with any activity or policy based in Judaism, you are an anti-Semite, and equivalent to a Nazi.

The world's response, and my own: Fuck You.

You will not get my money anymore.

You will not get my support anymore.

You will not get my patronage anymore.

I refuse to buy Israeli products.

I refuse to give to Israeli charities.

I refuse to help or support the State of Israel in any way, shape, or form.

I refuse to do business with someone who will send my money to Israel.

Fuck you.

Hopefully, this is the end of Israel, and the end of Zionism. Hopefully, Hamas and Hezbollah and whatever rag-tag mutherfuckers that crawl out of the rubble of the pansy-ass scumbags of Israel’s destruction will crush the IDF and IAF into a puddle of puss.

I, too, am a former U.S. Marine. And I, too, am appalled and disgusted by the actions of Israel. But I will take it one step further: has anybody else noticed the correlation between the United States’ blatant disregard of the Geneva Convention, including torture and the shredding of our Constitution, with the rise of Zionist power in America? It coincides EXACTLY, because it is a direct effect of Zionist values. Torture is a Zionist value. Lying is a Zionist value. Civil Rights and Fairness are not Zionist Values. I would say they are Jewish values, but I am still giving you the benefit of the doubt, beyond any reason to do so.

This is not the United States of America anymore, it is the United States of Israel. And I say to Israel…, because you know what? I am a United States citizen, and I raised my hand to protect and defend the United States of America from enemies both foreign and domestic, and you mutherfuckers are enemies, you are destroying my country with your greed, your blood-lust, and your lies. You are making me unsafe, my family unsafe, and my countrymen unsafe, because my money and my leaders support you. You have made America a target. So I say … Fuck You.

I hope you fail. I hope Israel is destroyed. And I have every right to say that, and am perfectly within my rights to say that, because I owe you no allegiance whatsoever.

Get the fuck out of my country, and go back to that desert shit-hole you came from.

Israel and Hamas

Hamas was nurtured by Israel as the west tried to create a contradiction with Pan-Arabism. As the U.S. found out, this had unforeseen consequences.

This is 2006 all over again. There is no way for Israel to decisively win; as long as Hamas can fire rockets, they win. The point of the rockets is not to kill Israelis, but to say, "yes, you can kill us, but we can kill you, too." This war isn't likely to win the hearts and minds of Palestinians. With no food, water, or much reason to live (or any degree of certainty that you will), why not fire rockets?

If Israel wants to end "terror" (really, asymmetrical warfare), they can either provide Hamas with a proper army and air force, or help the Palestinians attain a life where martyrdom seems absurd.

Well, then, Mister Steele the First

My gosh you are a stud, sir.

I am sure that all of Jerusalem is quaking as a result of your manifesto, sir!!

Oy gevakt, Mister Steele the First. What can I do to appease you, sir???

I have innocently been using "Ahava" products' soothing men's after shave moisturizer made in Israel, not because I insist on using Israeli products, but because this is the only after shave I've found in 50 odd years which both smells ok and also prevents the bumps. I am not trying to sell you this product, Mister Steele the First, but , just so you know, I am promising to never use it again (until my current supply is done of course) because I hate the bumps I get on my neck with the goyisha products like Mennens and Armani and Liz Claiborne.

Mister Steele the first, I will also alert all the great Jewish brain surgeons here and in Israel, that, although you have a life ending tumor in your bigot little brain, that you will be boycotting them, even though they are the only ones who have the experience and the knowledge to save your sorry, little, Jew hating life.

I am sure you will uderstand, sir.

OK?

unless someone can come up with another way to stop the attacks then it is either attempt to do so by force or not

if you intend to argue that Israel is obligated to accept a certain amount of rocket fire without responding you need to say so. It's going to be pretty difficult to get an idea accepted by an audience with any degree of skepticism if the idea being promoted can't even be stated. SPECIFICALLY what do you want done.

Steele the First

To thy own self true

You've become the worst

Friday, January 9, 2009 09:45 PM

Gosh, that really affects my life...

It's not bigoted to have moral clarity. Your stupid words mean nothing.

There were lots of good Nazi doctors too, but I wouldn't patronize them, either.
