Both parties cheerlead still more loudly for Israel's war

As the body count in Gaza piles up, the U.S. Congress acts overwhelmingly to insinuate itself into the war with blind support for Israel.

Derbig Mooser

If you think the Islamist terrorists' fight begins and ends with Israel, you're sadly mistaken. You're policy of appeasement only emboldens their terrorism against India in their claim to Kashmir. Who do you think perpatrated the barabric attacks in Mumbai, certainly that wasn't a part of a Zionist plot. (Or perhaps it was, in a city whose Jewish population is next to nothing the terrorists somehow managed to stumble upon the only Jewish center and then proceed to brutally torture and murder the peole there.)

Israel was created by a UN mandate and as a state have every right to pursue relations with other states. Why would they not? If you ask them to give up their ties to the U.S. then perhaps you would ask the Arab states to give up all their international relations. What stupidity.

Bill Owen, its good to think aloud sometimes

But surely you must remember that when we invaded Iraq millions of people in this country and all over the world protested the action; the very fact that any of these websites/blogs even exist is because of our action there. The energy and emotion against that war have been just as great, if not more so than what we have seen during Cast Lead, and even what occured in Lebanon in 2006.

In fact, that emotion was probably greater because of the culpability we all felt. Those same individuals feel a similar, but probably lesser culpability for what Israel is doing in Israel because of the massive funding and virtual diplomatic immunity we provide Israel.

The reason that people don't get as incessed about what Hamas does (aside from the very obvious fact of scale and urgency and threat level) is because we don't fund Hamas and we don't give them diplomatic cover at the UNSC.

...since this morning, and nobody dropped a quarter. And most of them are logical arguments against illogical people.

snoid,

Thanks for your response.

"This great historical process is further relevant insofar as many ex-Soviet Jews are now forming the West Bank settlers who will likely vote for Bibi Netanyahu next month and are the people Livni, Barak, and Olmert are trying to appeal to by invading Gaza now."

Indeed, we are all, in a way, prisoners of time - and of history. Subject to forces beyond our control or comprehension.

somoen here, a long time ago, said this

"...it'll take the sewage dwellers."

Ironic you say that....

This thread has devolved into an argument on how to spot anti-Semitism. I believe this is an argument that can never be resolved, for the following reasons:

Anti-semitism is a word that distinguishes racism against Jews as something categorically different than racism against blacks, or hispanics, or whites, or any other group. Since the term "Jew" has never been adequately defined, racism against Jews is impossible to define: to be against that which is indefinable?

I think instead of focusing on anti-Semitism, we should focus on Jewish Supremecy. That puts the onus on those making the charges to define what exactly it is they are charging us with. It also highlights what I see is the root cause of the current crisis in Gaza, and Israel.

I see Jewish Supremecy all the time in my media. I think it is the only form of blatant racism that is allowed, even condoned, in our society. It goes unquestioned. Why? Because if you say a Jewish person is a racist, you are anti-Semitic.

It will take Jewish Heretics to rescue modern Judaism from this abyss of illogic and the cult of death that they are mired in, just like it took Christian Heretics to rescue Europe from the Dark Ages of the Catholic Church.

So, in other words, support your local self-hating Jew!

That old Slander Problem again

You like to find genocide in every pro-Israel post on this site but sympathaize with and ignore the overt calls for it by the Palestinians. WTF! -- markandkari

WTF indeed.

Cite where I have done this. You cannot, because I do not and have written nothing which can be twisted to suggest so. Therefore you made a categorical false statement without supporting it, in the hope that it might go unnoticed and unchallenged late on a Friday night.

It's slander, markandkari.

Ah, the wonder of the mirror.

Chubby, svelte, hairy or not, the mirror reveals all. Even if it isn't so pretty. Especially when it isn't so pretty.

Whoops!! something tells me this here saloon is a left wing site and anyone who differs with their left wing rubbish is surrounded by a pack of dawgs.

Gwen's hero is Noam Chomsky. Oy gevalt! I remember from my radical left wing days back in Beserkeley, no matter what Israel did or did not do, Chomsky denounced Israel. Most of us turned away from all that radical, crazy left wing nonsense and those who stayed, loved Chomsky, a very intelligent man in his field with a firm Marxist hatred of capitalism and everything related to capitalism.

So, Gwen, you don't get into politics, not because of your bullshit integrity, but because you are clearly some kinda leftist who could not win an election outside of Santa Monica or Berkeley or Madison.

And then there is this Car Sick automaton who asks the same question to all who support Israel like some McCarthy, asking have you ever......

Dear Kar (sic) : Who the fuck are you? Why do you ask the same question, over and over again like some kind of automatic answering machine, to everyone who disagrees with all the Israel is the Devil consensus here? What is so sacred about a border which the Arabs violated and attacked for the last 50 years, carsick? If they attacked Israel through these borders time after time, why should Israel agree to withdraw behind these borders now?

Because, this time, those borders will be respected? Hello? Any general will tell you that you want to hold as much high ground as possible, Kar (sic). Why should the Israelis believe that if they were stooopid enough to give up the high ground which they won with their lives and their blood that they would not be swarmed again? Do you think they might want to wait until a new generation of Palestinian kids were NOT taught that all Jews were devils? Do you think that Israelis might be well advised to wait until the Palestinian and other Muslim children were not taught what a wonderful thing it is to kill many Jews as you commit suicide and go to heaven?

I hate to even respond to you. I feel your stink and your dirt and your hate as I type away here. You are so obvious in your toxic hatred, responding to you makes me feel as dirty as you are. Your posts should warn any Jew, who is not a committed Chomsky leftist like Glenda, that even liberal Jews should be careful who they accept as allies. I would much rather face you in a ring than try to rationally respond to your naked hatred with any words I can muster.

Your repeated question marks you as someone who would glorify herself as a top prosecutor in Stalin's show trials.

--------

And, that brings me to you, Dirthbag Looser.

Are you a big fan of Noam Chomsky too?

Or, are you still just a jackass who doesn't understand why you hate "Zionists" so much?
