It's "ondelette" as in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wavelet.
Come on now, Zultus Dingleberryfeet, you can't even make up bullshit stories that are convincing. Everybody knows that Take Your Dough, outside of maybe two techniques, is about as useful in a real fight as Ballet.
I remember this kid I went to high school with had a black belt in TKD. He weighed about 135-140. He got into a fight with another kid who had at least 30-40 more pounds on him and no fighting background. The TKD blackbelt assumed a fighting stance, then got taken down and mauled. And if the bully is on the wrestling team, forget about traditional martial arts.
To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, there you go again.
The at this point wilfully disingenuous Glenn Greenwald continues to conflate Iraq and Israel, two issues so woefully incomparable as to represent different languages. But when you have agenda like Glenn, the legitimate unjustifiability of the Amercan invasion of Iraq proves quite fruitful when attacking Israeli response to actual terrorism from an actual neighbor.
Lets watch the Greenwald conflation dance:
As Omooex pointed out, it really is amazing how many people here who want to defend Israel's attack on Gaza -- PalestraJon, Shooter, Win Smith -- have to outright lie about what is being said by critics:
War critics claim it's perfectly OK to kill Israelis.
Greenwald fallacy #1: "Critics" are a monolithic group who share a singular motivation for their critiques. Buried in Glenn's linguistic slippages are any potential for heterogenious motivating factors. To Glenn Greenwald, Israel's "critics'" motivations are textual, linear and overt, understood purely through a surface and cursory review of their stated reasons. Glenn's opponents however, operate using subtext, innuendo and agenda.
For Glenn Greenwald, Israel's defenders are duplicitous, either fearing "reprisal" from hidden funding, or afraid to speak their true opinions.
As such, the logical incoherency of Glenn Greenwald in a nutshell: Those who agree with me are a singular vision of consistency, in which no secondary motivations are possible. Those who oppose me are duplicitous and shifty.
Lost in Glenn's logical bait-n-switch: The idea that some use legit critique as cover for preexisting agenda.
For Glenn and his apologists, there is no anti-Semitism on these boards. And if there is, it's a lone nutcase. And if there's more than a few, well, what are ya gonna do?
Thus, Glenn Greenwald has become what he has beheld. Just as George W. Bush never explicitly stated Saddam was behind 9/11, Glenn Greenwald has never "explicitly stated" that there is an international Jewish financing ring working behind the scenes to manipulate global government forces to aid Israel.
And if anti-Semitic Israel haters join Glenn in the cause under cover of his words, well then that's just too bad. Just as George W. Bush couldn't help those who blamed Iraq for 9/11.
Glenn continues:
War critics don't want Israel to exist and want to see it destroyed.
Again, in Glenn's fervered mind, "war critics" mean Glenn Greenwald. There is a singularity of purpose -- the noble love of the suffering Palestinian children, and any other agenda could not possibly exist.
Glenn knows this because Glenn sees pictures of dead Palestinian children and feels upset. No further examination necessary.
No further need to look back at the 1990s, when Israel was not bombing anyone, and was met with the same vitriol we see today, spewing forth in the United Nations and all over the world.
That was then. This is now. Sure, the entire world hated Israel and anti-Semitic global conspiracy theories have been popping up globally for hundreds of years.
This time, because Glenn Greenwald is upset by an image, the criticisms are now legitimized. No need to place into larger context.
Glenn continues with the reductive binaries:
War critics hate Jews.
For Glenn, war critics cannot hate Jews. It is not possible, because Palestinians have died, likely through excess and inexcusable violence.
For Glenn, the either/or replaces complexity. If the state of Israel does wrong, then no anti-Semitism or anti-Israel pathology can exist. Or if it does exist, that's not Glenn's fault.
For Glenn Greenwald has purged his mind of the hobgoblins of bias that, miracuously, exist only in his critics.
It's exactly the same -- exactly -- as how those who advocated the attack on Iraq accused war critics of hating America, loving Saddam, being pro-rape-room, etc.
Yes, if by "exactly the same," you mean totally different.
There is no thousand year history of Saddam Hussein love and pro-rape-room forgeries written in Russia. There is no thousand year history of Catholic Popes rounding up Jews in Spain and trying them to torture racks for their "secret European financing." There is no thousand year history of pro-Iraq Crusaders maurauding through Europe, massacring hundreds of thousands in the name of "Jesus."
These tactics are as transparent as they are discredited. If you have to lie about what other people are arguing in order to refute it, that's a pretty good sign that you have nothing worthwhile to say.
Yes, if by the tactics of "smear by association," you mean fictionalized chicken-hawk narratives done by the American right.
If you mean the tactics of using Israel and myths of hidden cabals to engage in the rage of a thousand year global pathology have been discredited, your a f-ing moron.
Just because you aren't a pathologically self-hating anti-Israel zealot, Glenn, and at this point I'm no longer sure, doesn't mean your followers aren't. Your desire to make excuses for age old inflammatory rage, "justified" by recent events as you'd like it to be, doesn't mean it does not exist.
Saddam Hussein was also a tyrant. That did not "justify" the transfered pathological rage of a post 9/11 country into invading and blowing up Iraq.
Do you support Israel's ongoing settlement expansion in the West Bank, JonathanInTelAviv?
Do you support a 2-state solution based on 1947 borders specified in the UN partition plan, assuming Palestinian government states Israel's right to exist as a state based on that plan?
I think you mean The Next Karate Kid, where Pat Morita teaches Hilary Swank who to kick but and paint fences.
Jump into tiger position when car almost hit you.
Indeed.
