The DOJ pursues the "real criminal" in the NSA spying scandal

While the high-level lawbreakers are protected from consequences by our political class, only the courageous whistle-blower is subject to criminal prosecution.

She was close

Jane Harman said "I think it is tragic that a lot of our capability is now across the pages of the newspapers."

She meant "culpability."

Chris

I've never been able to figure out what Reid has been attempting to accomplish with his obvious (at least to me) Machiavellian tactics.

I am a "bleeding-heart" liberal who tracks GG's convictions almost 100%. Since Reid became the leader in the senate I have never felt that he was plugging for my causes. Ironically, I have always felt that he gave great deference to office of the president.

Often, I've said that I have never been more depressed than when I evaluate the performance of the congressional democrats especially since the 2006 elections. I feel congress supported Bush after 2006 the same as before 2006. I blame Reid.

Even though the republicans are innately evil they have the courage to fight for what they believe in. I can't say the same for Reid and his cronies.

I would prefer the federal money not be spent on either...

Yeah. I was only expressing a preference if given the choice between the two, using a "beggars can't be choosers" mentality. I would prefer the Federal Government disappearing altogether, that way no money would have to go it :)

And like Kitt eluded to, it gives me an excuse to use the "I" word.

Rocky, you can be a contender, even the Champ!

i think the U.S. attorney general should indict glenn greenwald and charge him with sedition, treason and for advocating the violent overthrow of the Federal Government.

Rocky Balboa

Rocky, you should write up and file the complaint, or at least "drop a dime" on Glenn. Gosh, when I think of the outrageous amount of governmental anti-semitism going around, Glenn wouldn't have a chance! He would probably get the chair, like the Rosenbergs! What are you waiting for?

With Christ's help, Rocky, you could put Greenwald away for good! Better still, combine wallaby's "hate speech" case with your own "sedition" indictment! How could you lose?

cops don't get J-walking tickets

that is the way the system is. those that make the law and enforce the law do not need to obey it. at least that is what the club wants and does.

@ antineocon

"In an interview with The Hill, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said he would not roll over for the new president the way Republicans did for Bush."

Typo there. They misspelled "Democrats".

Cheers,

I wonder, seriously, if Glennda ever thinks of the female FBI Agent in the Midwest who was trying to alert her counterparts at other intelligence agencies that there were a lot of young Arab men learning to fly, well before 9/11, instead of going to college like their visas said they were. Thanks

Lotila, my friend, do you really want to go there? I've got one sentence for you, Footsila: "All right now, you've covered your ass".

You might want to Google that.

So does Ron Paul! ;)

I think they need more "bread" to breed.

Otherwise these trolls seem to be breeding like.....

Like Israelis? Can't even replace themselves? Think about it, it's been what, almost two weeks now, and these are the forces the neoZionistcons can muster? And most of them we know from a long time back.

No, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of breedin' going on.

It's a good think for Rocky Rococo here that being brain-dead is not a crime in any cognisable jurisdiction. If it were, he'd be off the hook as I hear he'll be Raptured™ any day now....

Cheers,

P.S.: "sedition" is so passé as a crime. Can't you get with the times, Rocky?

I blame Reid

Oh, come now, there is plenty of blame to go around!

Even though the republicans are innately evil they have the courage to fight for what they believe in. I can't say the same for Reid and his cronies.

I don't know if "courageous" is an accurate description of their behavior.

Real criminals are elected

Does it surprise anyone that it's only the lower-paid workers in government, the whistleblowers, who get nabbed? They have not political clout; they don't have enough money to be a factor in any pol's campaign; they can be railroaded by the DOJ and vilified by the right-wing press and few if any people in authority will come to their aid. It's pathetic. Especially since people like Mr. Tamm are the ones who keep history on a straighter course than it would be without them. Our esteemed legislators are way too concerned about re-election to go against the White House on any policies or investigations. Where are the senators and congressmen who do things because they are right for the country rather than to get another term in office? Why do they want to BE in office anyway? I'm thinking it's just so they can get that pension and the other perks that go with it. And a cushier, higher paying job when they retire! Thank God for Mr. Tamm and all the others like him. He should be given a medal, not a subpoena.

They seem to be residuals from whenever GG makes a blog entry regarding the "I" word.

How's the hunt for Osama Bin Laden going? Since it was Bush's #1 job after 9.11 (or, correction, the #1 job of a president loyal to the United States), and it's been 7 & 1/2 years and absolutely nothing was ever done.

Have you heard anything on that?

Does any rightwinger care one bit that Osama Bin Laden made the USA his bitch thanks to George W Bush, Dick Cheney, and the Republican Party?

Have you heard ANYTHING, you ignorant sack of shit?!
