Don't know if GG will ever see this, but it occurs to me -- if I'm right, that strong party systems can overcome aristo/plutocratic systems in a democracy, this might be one factor in the Village's constant put-down of "partisanship".
You're right, doctorscience, that the Village doesn't like or support any political parties. Their true loyalty is to the incumbency party. Anyone outside of that is the enemy. They always protect the incumbent.
