Friedman Unit

Oh, to be so stupid, to be so wrong, to have such an over-weening ego that allows one to deny the recorded reality of one's words of non-wisdom, and to be able to do all of this with a straight face...god, I should ever be so fortunate to get away with this! Hey, Tom! Suck. On. This.

The Good Ship Friedman

Regretfully, Thomas Friedman will continue to turn out a book every six months, filled with tripe, and his enablers in the MSM (MTP, Charlie R) will give him time to spew recycled garbage. Look at the collection of idiots: they never pay a price for the troubles they have inflicted on our country. Now they will move seamlessly into lecturing Obama. Meanwhile: NBC talk meister McCaffrey is on a lucrative gravy train...why am I not surprised.

Pray

Pray that Obama has enough wisdom to see through this bullshit. Every twist and turn of this tragedy has been marked by a mendaciousness that surpasses all belief. I personally warn those who haven't spoken up in opposition: This stain is on your soul. Speak up or your karma is doomed.

@ serge

You forgot "... and get paid for it."

I'd like to think if I was that bad at my chosen profession, I'd find a different one. But then, perhaps being right isn't what Friedman et al are being paid for.

Good analysis

Glenn:

Thank you for digging this up. As the transition ratchets up and the pundit class gets ready to kowtow to another regime, it is important to look back and see how they contour their opinions and continue to be the lapdogs of power. Revisionism is not only dangerous, it is actively damaging to any attempts to understand how we got where we are and to change what we are doing.

I Will NEVER Forget The Stolen Election or The WMD Hoax

Two things the media whores and the Villagers would love for us all to forget:

1) The fact that Bush and his political supporters stole the 2000 election

2) The fact that the Iraq War was sold to the demos by means of an egregious WMD Hoax

The MSM and the Village played a huge role as enablers in both instances. Most people have already filed away the stolen 2000 election as ancient history and the WMD hoax is fast heading down the same road.

That kind of bullshit is absolutely and completely unacceptable and unforgiveable. It is NOT business as usual no matter much the passive agressive perpetrators try to intimidate us by telling us we're overreacting. The only acceptable resolution to either one -- among a self-respecting, self-ruling people -- is prosecution. And no bullshit whitewash commission will do.

I will NEVER forget and I will NEVER forgive the Republican operatives or the MSM and Village enablers. Those people are soulless, unprincipled, careerist, social-climbing cowards.

Dick Day

Defense contracts actually stated that the longer we stayed in Iraq, the more money the generals would make.

Not to mention the Military-Industrial Complex. War is Good For Business. Which brings us to the real reason why the US conquered Iraq, and why the US feels the need to have hundreds of military bases all over the world, and why Beltway Washington has gone neocon: it's profitable to the MIC.

So far as the MIC is concerned, any motivation for more militarism and more war is a good one. Friedman and Hiatt are employed to provide the cover story by coming up with plausible lies. They're just a couple of the many neoconservative propagandists who have been useful to the MIC in promoting US imperialism and globalism. They really have no other purpose, and nothing to say about anything which does not advocate corporatism and militarism, either directly or indirectly.

Friedman and Hiatt know full well they aren't keeping their stories straight and care about that as little as any other con artist. They're paid professional weasels and make no apologies. They're just doing a job, selling out the country to the war profiteers and subsidiary greedmongers, any way they can.

read NYT's take on General McCafferty.

It makes it pretty obvious that the MIC is running the show, and that the MIC is more than willing to bankrupt the US to get a few more boatloads of money sailing their way.

What makes you think...

...anyone, anywhere, having anything to do with this stupid war, has the capability or desire to learn a lesson? People who have all the answers don't need to learn lessons. Got it?
