I'd wager that questions about race have got absolutely nothing to do with anything of substance for a very great majority of us here.

How much from Greenwald have you read? How many of his articles? Perhaps you should read more from him before leveling the charge of racism even one more time, because, frankly, you're making yourself look like a fool ... a HUMAN fool.

Isn't that wonderful? I ran into Boney-M when I was looking up Miriam Makeba videos after her sad and untimely passing, (what a performer! What an artist! What a singer! She is the greatest!) and Boney-M, of course, does a version of "Malika". Which is a stunning one. The costumes are gorgeous and very tasty. You should take a look at it.

follow that script ..I do find it interesting reading such shallow retorts like yours in a liberal chat room....Your willingness to play the race card reveals alot about you not me in fact..
I never thought a word could be as dismaying as "left".
But "progressive" is giving it a run for its money.
Exactly what, in terms of politics today, does "progressive" mean? That we want things to get better? Okay, I'm for that.
And "left" has simply become ridiculous. Look, I don't need somebody to tell me what is "hip". Hell, I give a correspondence course in "hip" (which many of you, if you don't mind my saying so, could use) But "progressive"? What the hell? Has anybody gone and researched what "progressive" means in American politics? As far as I can tell, it means very little which speaks to our present political problems, and what it does mean, we don't want. There are certainly a lot of things wrong with America, but lack of progress is not one of them. Progress we got, way too much of it for me.
And has "left" come to mean simply "that portion of the electorate which doesn't want poor old people to die in the streets? Cause you can do that and never come within a mile of the "left".
And the Repubs are doing the most "leftist" things of all! They are pouring money into what used to be private enterprise.
This article is potentially leading not to transcendence, but to more brokeness [...] you have to be practical. Pragmatic. People on the left who want everything their way all the time from their politicians need to grow up. It will never always be every way you want - because it's not possible. You have to compromise sometimes. Obama will rule from the center - that is what he has been talking about all along.

1) I'm not, broadly speaking on the "Left", like many of the other people who post comments to Glenn's blog, and many more who read it.
2) American presidents "lead" they do not "rule"
3) Worship of still-living men went out of fashion before the fall of Rome and the "divine right of kings" was debunked in the 17th century.
I realize this comments section degenerated in to a festival of idiocy during the afternoon, but this post is still distinctively pitiful. Breathless worship of Bush by alleged Christians is part of what provoked me to despise his administration (they were all too happy to accept the accolades). Watching "progressives" or "leftists" fall into the same repulsive patterns is doubly disgusting... although I don't quite know why.

The Democratics have shown just as much integrity as the Republicans, but fewer balls. Do they really think vitriol spewing Lieberman, an enthusiastic cheer leader for McCain/Palin is going to "go along" with the Democrats on their agenda? Since when has it become standard policy to reward poor performance, disloyalty. Looks like change is just a word with nothing but hot air behind it.
