Has there been too much bipartisanship or too little?

The reward Joe Lieberman will receive today is justified by the claimed need for more bipartisanship harmony. Is it even possible to have more than we have now?

    Shooter

"Gee, so trying to submarine Lieberman with Lamont backfired, and all involved are blaming everyone but themselves? Keep up the good work."-- shooter242

submarine -- To slide, drive, or throw under something.

Running another candidate against an incumbent for a party's primary would correctly be refered to as challenging for the seat, not attempting to submarine the incumbent.

Lamont won that primary and then Lieberman tried to submarine the Connecticut Democratic party by running as an Independent.

backfire -- To produce an unexpected, undesired result.

What's unfolded since Lamont lost the general election couldn't be termed backfiring unless you're implying that Joe's chickenshit behavior since then is a direct reaction to being openly challenged rather than simply the true expression of who he was all along. Wouldn't that be like you blaming other commenters at UT for the fact that you're a troll?
