    Glenn, I have to correct your statistical analysis. Sarah Palin's "Unqualified" rating changed only 1%, which is very small. That's within the margin of error of most polls, including this one. Her "Qualified" rating increased by 4%. I'd hardly say it was a debacle for her.

    I didn't say the debate was a "debacle" for her. The point is that many in the GOP -- including Frank Luntz -- were claiming that the reaction to her performance would be so strong that it would change the face of the election. Plainly, that did not happen. If anything, the amount viewing her as unqualified increased -- just as I put it -- "slighty" (and your statement that "Her "Qualified" rating increased by 4%" is mistaken; it only increased 2% (from 40 to 42%)).
