So please illuminate my unschooled mind as to the wondrous success stories of free market economics.
I'm a patient person, I assure you.
And what, exactly, was it about the Truman through Clinton administrations that was so clearly fascist (although you probably won't get much argument from me about Nixon and Reagan, but I'm guessing that this isn't what you mean)?
Let me guess, they dared to regulate your precious free market, which for reasons unspecified must at all times be left untarnished by vile government regulation, because it's a moral world apart from all else. While people shouldn't be allowed to physically kill and rob and enslave others, they have every moral and legal right to do so in the economic arena, because that's how god, Smith, Hayek and Cato deemed that it should be!
Face it, they're taking away your toys, because you hurt too many people with them, and you can't handle it. And still you hide behind your ponies, instead of having the guts to come out and say what you really believe--dog eat dog, law of the jungle, only the fittest survive, and the rest can all go fuck themselves because they don't deserve squat.
I.e. sociopathology elevated to a formal ideology.
