A country in shambles, under GOP rule

Efforts to blame Democrats for the country's deep woes assume deep stupidity on the part of the glorified Regular Voter.

It's kind of sad (but not really) when the best-coordinated GOP "campaign"

is their call-in and letter-writing campaign to CSPAN and other media outlets (who are being far less patient with their blatant nonsense), trying to pin all the blame for the mortgage meltdown on Democrats, from Carter, under whose administration the original CRA was passed, to Clinton, under whose administration it was supposedly altered to "force" banks to lend to unqualified (minority) borrowers, to Frank, Dodd and Waters, who supposedly singlehandedly blocked the mighty DeLay/Hastert house from passing legislation that would have save us from this mess.

They're literally flodding CSPAN's call-in lines with call after call repeating these same exact lies, which both shows that they're still capable of mounting a coordinated campaign (unlike McCain, who's an idiot on both a political and policy level), and how pathetic they are if this is the best effort that they can mount to prop up their rotting, stinking corpse of a movement. I don't know whether to laugh, cry or just shrug at this, so idiotic have they become in their desperate efforts to forestall their inevitable collapse next month. It's like a 12 year old boy (which they basically are, emotionally and mentally) crying to his mommy that a 6 year old has been picking on him.

How delusional, moronic and desperate does one have to be to sink to such a pathetic level, that one believes that spewing such utter nonsense will allow one to remain politically viable? How low does one have to sink to actually believe in such nonsense? It reminds me of a sad old man I met a few years ago, otherwise intelligent, educated and accomplished, who literally believed that liberals in his state were trying to convert public school students into being gay. What's wrong with these people? How do they get to the point where they believe this crap, or can be readily convinced to believe in and spout it in cult-like manner to the media?

I haven't had the time to regularly read the comments section here lately, but I'm guessing that they're here as well, spouting this transparently idiotic (and racist) nonsense.
